You'd expect a quality multi-system (PAL/NTSC) DVD player to be able to handle virtually any DVD or CD format. But you wouldn't expect it to be able to record your CDs onto USB devices. That's the surprising feature of the affordable Pioneer DV-320K Multi-System DVD Player. Through its built-in USB port, the player can turn your favorite tunes or whole albums into MP3s in your choice of three bit rates.

In addition to CD ripping, the DV-320K comes with many other impressive features, such as PureCinema 2:3 Progressive Scan technology, a 12-bit/108 MHz video D/A, Windows Media Audio (WMA) capability, JPEG with music playback, MPEG-4 AAC decoding (iTunes), and DivX playback (all versions). The DV-320K is compatible with DVD-Video, DVD-R/W, DVD+R/W, SVCD, and VCD discs. To help re-create the thrill and realism of today's movie soundtracks at home, the player offers Dolby Digital/DTS audio decoding, and optical and coaxial digital audio outputs for connection to your surround sound receiver.

Though the Pioneer is an excellent DVD player, it also can be used as a CD, CD-R/W or MP3 music player. Turn to the DV-320K to share your favorite songs and JPEG photos with friends and family at your next gathering. Other great features include: Dialogue Enhancer, Virtual Surround, and Sound Equalizer modes.

The super slim chassis coupled with the high-gloss black acrylic finish will complement your room's decor. If you're a music lover or home video enthusiast on a budget, the multi-system Pioneer DV-320K will delight you with its versatility and reliability.

Note! This item is imported and it is not supported by a MFR warranty. To support this product B&H Photo provides a 90-day warranty.

PureCinema 2:3 Progressive Scan
As a progressive scan DVD player, the DV-320K is capable of scanning an entire video frame at once, drastically reducing scan-lines commonly associated with interlaced video. The result is a spectacularly clear and detailed image with no motion artifacts (stair-stepping).

CD Ripping to USB Devices
With the DV-320K, you can record songs directly from CDs to USB devices. The data is stored in the MP3 format with your choice of bit rate from 128/192/320 kbps. You can copy the whole album or select tracks.

Sound Retriever for CD-Quality Sound
The Sound Retriever feature significantly improves compressed audio quality to the level of CD sound in three steps (high/low/off). It does this by creating new signals to restore the minor details left out during the compression process. This feature is effective for both analog and digital output, and upgrades MP3/WMA sound so that it is closer to the quality of the original master.

USB Input
Using the convenient front-panel USB input, you can listen to two-channel audio and watch DivX video and JPEG photo files.

Built-In Multi-Channel Decoders
To create a thrilling sonic experience, the DV-320K has built-in processors to handle the multi-channel decoders for Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound. The unit is capable of advanced 24-bit processing and an outstanding sampling frequency of 96KHz.

DivX Home Theater Certified
DivX is video compression software that enables high-quality video to be compressed into very small files, which are then downloaded onto CD-R or CD-RW discs and played back with very little loss of quality. The DV-320K is capable of playing back all versions of DivX, including 6.0. The unit supports playback from USB as well as DVD-R/RW/ROM and CD-R/RW/ROM discs, offering flexible media options.

Multi-Format Disc Player
You won't have to worry about whether the DV-320K can play your discs. The unit plays DVD Audio/Video, DVD-R/W, DVD-R DL, DVD+R/W, VCD, SVCD, CD, CD-R/W, WMA, MP3, and JPEG.

High-Performance Outputs
With playback specifications that meet the standards of professionals, this player features a component video output for high-resolution, low-distortion video playback, and coaxial and optical digital audio outputs for high-quality audio playback.

Virtual Surround Sound
Don't have room for a multi-speaker surround sound setup? With Virtual Surround Sound, you can enjoy realistic 3D surround sound from just a single pair of stereo speakers.

Parental Lock
For parents who want full control of media content played back through the DV-320K, the player's menu features a parental control and rating system adjustment.

Multi-Language System
You have the ability to select language or subtitle preferences through the convenient on-screen display.

Full-Feature Remote Control
The DV-320K includes a full-feature remote control able to execute every command from the comfort of your favorite chair.

I was looking for an inexpensive way to play PAL formatted DVD's on my American television. The DV-320K at around 80 USD does just that.
