Comments about Hoya 62mm Ultraviolet UV(0) Haze Glass Filter:
Protects lens. I'm sure the Nikon or B&W filters have better glass and possibly render better image quality, but my images are for me not Sports Illustrated. I bought this filter to protect the lens any added haze reduction is a plus. Also I edit my photos with Adobe Elements. The filter feels strong not flimsy and screws on easy I have it on my Nikon 85mm 1.8 there is no vignetting though I would expect that on an medium telephoto. The hood screws in nicely also.

I bought the glass filter to provide some UV filtering, but primarily to protect the glass of my $$$$ lenses.

I'm using this as a lens protector in dusty, windy areas - but have noticed that it degrades the clarity of my lens just a bit. The degradation is very minor, and worth the risk when at the beach or otherwise.
