The ION MT Rackmount Audio Workstation from Rain Recording is an advanced audio workstation with a 4U rackmount form factor. Tested and certified by Rain engineers for optimal performance with Pro Tools, Adobe Premier and NI, the ION far exceeds the capabilities of a standard computer when working with digital audio.
Rain's Quiet Cool Design leverages the efficiency of a balanced component architecture and intelligent cooling to eliminate data bottlenecks, prevent overheating, and create a practically silent computing environment. It is powered by a quad-core CPU for superlative performance, and offers an array of PCI and PCI Express expansion slots for use with UAD and Pro Tools HD cards. The computer's super power audio platform is designed to deliver the perfect balance of power and stability, allowing you to remain focused on music production.
The ION features FireWire, eSATA, and USB 2.0 ports for device connectivity. It is loaded with 1TB of storage and 4GB of RAM. The computer is powered by a 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Q9400 Quad Core CPU, and features ATI 4650 graphics. Windows XP Professional Edition (32-bit) is the installed operating system.
