Comments about onOne Software Perfect Photo Suite 5.5 Software:
As a user of Photoshop CS3 Extended, I am always looking for ways to avoid all the steps and experimenting necessary to process an image so it has a subtle *pow*. Photoshop can be a cumbersome product with layers/channels/selections/masking and getting all your steps to arrive at a finished image. Do not misunderstand, PS is a marvelous piece of software, but sometimes it is TOO chock full of ways to arrive at the same place. I do use it to convert images to TIFF files, clean up dust bunnies/errant objects like a missed piece of garbage, some levels and curves, etc.
This is why I ordered Perfect Photo Suite 5.5 Software from B&H. Last fall, my husband and I spent 3 weeks in Southern Utah shooting the geologic wonders in Bryce, Grand Staircase, San Rafael Swell, Capitol Reef, Cedar Breaks and a few state parks. I was very frustrated when I tried to create those glowing red rock walls of Long Canyon along the Burr Trail Road using all the tools PS has to offer.
After receiving and installing my copy of Perfect Photo Suite, I immediately
went to Photo Tools 2.6, one of six applications within the suite, to use some of their presets. With some tweaking of the sliders and a judicious use of effects, I was able to recapture some of the grandeur and glow of the Utah landscape.
The other apps within the suite will be useful. Perfect Resize 7(formerly Genuine Fractals) will allow resizing without all the problems associated with larger images. Photo Frame 4.6 with its large arsenal of faming effects will give my images I put on my blog some zip. Added depth of field is Focal Point 2's purpose which I am anxious to try. I did use Photo Tune 3 for color correction but think it will better serve the images I shoot of performers for skin under stage lighting. And, Mask Pro 4.1 will help me out for precise masking when I need to isolate an object I want to just added some special emphasis to in a landscape (such as a rusted antique car to give it a burnished glow).
The individual software in this suite are PS plugins but several (Perfect Rezize, Photo Frame, Focal Point, and Photo Tune) will work as stand-alones.
I would recommend this bundle to any photographer who wants to bring their images to the next step. I do not favor highly processed images that become surrealistic. What I am after is an image faithful to what I remember, the reason I shot the image in the first place.

Comments about onOne Software Perfect Photo Suite 5.5 Software:
I am a semi-professional photographer that has just recently started my own business. I needed a quick, easy way to edit my photos. This program is so easy to use and the finished product comes out professional-looking EVERY time. Love it!!! The only problem I've found is that the program occasionally shuts down when I do too many actions at one time. This is more than likely a memory issue with my computer.

Comments about onOne Software Perfect Photo Suite 5.5 Software:
I use the product as a plug-in for Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS5. It does a great job in complimenting these two products. The layer mask is much easier than Photoshop and is quite intuitive when painting-in or painting out objects. Photo-tools speeds up workflow, so that you can get back to taking photographs. Resizing photos for print is more accurate and easy to use. The company provides online training, electronic tutorials and tutorial in PDF format. Also, onOne provides excellent customer service and technical support.

Comments about onOne Software Perfect Photo Suite 5.5 Software:
I started with On One's Genuine Fractals enlarging software a few years ago, was so pleased I upgraded after a year, then in the third year, decided to pop for their entire suite and I'm sure glad I did. The price is an incredible bargain considering the vast creative capabilities it provides, not to mention the many hours of PhotoShop time it saves. Plus, it has some tools that are absolutely essential. I still shoot film and scan the negs with an Epson V750 Pro scanner, and I can scan at 300 or 400% (for better quality) and then enlarge to whatever size I want with the Genuine Fractals with virtually no loss of quality. Pretty amazing. I've even taken my wife's older 7mp Lumix, which will make a decent 6x8 inch photo, and used this program to enlarge to 16x20 with no loss (digital photographers take note: you can save money on cameras because you don't need high megapixels when you have this program). I've used the phototools effects for a vast array of photo enhancing effects, which can be stacked one on another and adjusted individually and finely. But I find you have to dial them back and use judiciously, but when you do, the effects are wonderful without looking obviously manipulated (unless you want that), so you can achieve virtually any effect you want and save a lot of PhotoShop time. I made a portrait of my neighbor's 4-year old son, who had long blonde hair, and I was able to make a romanticized, almost Victorian type, portrait with the help of this program. Also, the frame effects are extremely interesting, not just typical frames, but all kinds of texture, grunge and edge effects that are ideal for certain photos, especially when you want an antique or aged look, and again these can be chosen, adjusted, stacked, and dialed back, to achieve exactly the look you want (each application enters its own layer in PhotoShop, which you can also adjust or dial back). Also, the focal point focus filter allows you to shoot at F8 or f11 on your lens and then make the photo look like F2.8 -- and this, too, is adjustable endlessly and saves a lot PhotoShop time with the blur/erase tools. I've also tried the masking tool, which works really good for some applications (it masks by colors); for instance, trying to mask out a person with blowing or wild hair, or cat with whiskers. But it's not a do-all masking tool, just one to use when your task calls for what this one can do best. But trying to describe what you can do with this program is futile. The choices and possibilities are near infinite. It's easy enough to get started, no difficult learning curve here, but you can also watch tutorials and get tech help, and new stuff is added online all the time (sign up for their emails). This is a first class program by a first class company, and it would be well worth it at twice the price.

Comments about onOne Software Perfect Photo Suite 5.5 Software:
Excellent software. Must have it for pro's. Great online video tutorials, very nice knowledgeable support staff, product works excellent, many different & creative ways to use it. Even though it is little expensive but on other hand it save you thousands of dollars from buying new and pro grade expensive lenses & give you great Depth-of-field within the software. Though this software is as easy to use, there's a lot to learn and find creative ways to be very unique in your own way. Genuine Fractal, photo tools, mask pro focal point and photo tune are simply priceless and not to mention it gives you hundreds of presets if you shoot raw files. I know I probably sound like I am doing infomercial for OnOne, but I was pretty impressed when Dan- (creator/ owner/ upper management team member) called me to ask me how I was doing with software and if I had any questions or suggestion. That was very nice for someone from that high level to call and ask how I was doing with their product ( usually people forget you once you buy their product)
Anyway, it's free to try.
Good luck.
