The Pearstone OLM2 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone is an affordable replacement mic for the Sony UWP wireless transmitters. The OLM2 features an omnidirectional polar pattern and wide, transparent frequency response. The cable terminates to a locking 1/8" (3.5mm) mini connection.

I don't know if it's actually better than Sony, but the stock mike developed a short in the 1/8th in connector, which I was surprised happened. This OLM2 is a great replacement at considerably less in price. It is much smaller compared to the stock mike.

To me this mic works every bit as good as the name brand. They are used every day in the field and have yet to come across issues. The sound is crisp, and you wouldn't ever know it's not the name brand.
