As I've said - extremely useful, high quality product
It fits perfect, it's exactly what this camera needed
BUT
Why Leica didn't make it at factory?
Since I've bought it and as far as the battery is not a marathon runner - i have to screw it on and remove almost every second day
And it's not chip at all but worth it

The X1 Hand Grip for the Leica X1 camera makes for an accessory worth having. Is great for one-hand operation and a useful good hand grip anytime. It attaches/detaches quickly with a knob for easy battery and memory card changing. It's expensive as is Leica gear.

The X1 is beautiful as is, but is more difficult to hold than the M body. I could not use it with only my right hand. This grip makes that possible. It's a bit inconvenient to remove it to get at batteries and the card, but the handling improvement more than offsets the inconvenience.

Hand grip makes an expensive little camera feel much more secure. The fit is superb as the hand Grip has a pin at the far end that mates perfectly with the X1 body. Leica , as always know what they are about!
