The Rangemax Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router from Netgear provides Wireless-N wireless connections. Utilizing both the 2.4 and 5GHz bands and eight internal antennas, the router has excellent signal strength and range. The LAN ports utilize 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet, and advanced Quality of Service features ensure that high-bandwidth applications like VoIP, MMO games, and HD streaming video get higher prioritization. The router is backwards compatible with devices using Wireless-A, -B, or -G signals, so upgrading your network to Wireless-N won't disrupt use of your older devices.

After 3 years on line, only interrupted by power outages my old Netgear router died (power supply problem I think). I replaced it with this router only based on how well the last Netgear router worked. This router does have a better signal and is faster. I have it installed on the 1st floor of the house due to cable modem constraints, it works perfect on 2nd floor (living area) and 3rd floor (bedrooms). If you are reading this review you are overqualified to set up this router it is completely simple. This router checks and if needed updates its firmware every time you log on to Netgear using the hardwired computer. Very nice feature if I can remember to log on every month or so. I do not use the usb storage and could have gotten a slightly less expensive router made by another maker but dependability is really the most important function to me.

Just replaced my 5 years old Linksys to improve my home network,(Netgear specs says it has 8 internal antennas) 2 level house I using laptop on lower level (Netgear router on the upper) so far I have more drop out from net on my laptop than before, internet TV service did not improve even I bought another piece of equipment from NETGEAR XAVB5001 Powerline AV 500 Adapter Kit ($150) and connect it through the router, before I used wireless connection and it was about the same speed and quality so at this point it just a waste of money If you don't have equipment that can able to receive 5GHZ signal which is quite rare at this point time don't bother. My old Linksys did the same job but for about $50 or$60

Comments about Netgear Rangemax Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router:
I am a medium duty internet user in need to upgrade my router to N. After a disappointing experience with the Asus N56U (no VPN), on recommendation of our IT guys, I switched to the WNDR3700. This is a great router: easy to set up, true dual band,VPN supported, reliable and fast. Guest access is easy to set up, and Netgear's parental controls work (although slightly cumbersome to bypass for the parents). This is a great all round router.

I up graded to the 3700 from a 3500. Needed a dual band for streaming HD. Very happy with the product as I's just what I needed. Installation was very easy to hook up with the rest of my network. Would recommend it to a friend

Comments about Netgear Rangemax Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router:
I bought the Netgear N600 dual band router to replace an old only g router, because my home network is growing. I have my desktop computer wired on and also my laptop, my TV and my PS3 hooked up to the network.
First of all, the router exterior design is elegant, sleek and futuristic, especially when installed on the vertical stand that comes included with it. But I did not bought it for that reason.
I bought it because it offers 300 Mbps for each two independent 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless bands, which reduces network congestion, along with 4 Gigabit wired links, jumbo frames support and USB NAS support.
The router is a beast! The setup menu offers extensive options, like full QoS support and customizations, remote management and HD video steaming optimizations. Also, after some security tests, the integrated hardware firewall is very effective.
The setup is extremely easy, it took me less than 10 minutes to get it installed and working. Also, the router supports WAP authentication button setup for the wireless devices that supports it.
The only thing I'm not happy with is that the integrated DLNA media server used to stream contents from the USB drive attached is not working with the latest firmware version (V3).
I would recommend this product to anyone who as a big home network and do not want it to be slow and clogged.

Good router. Works like it is supposed to. Hope it lasts as long as my last D-Link DI-604 non-wireless router which I've had for at least 10 years and only replaced for wireless capability. Right now this is more router than I need but I'm hoping my band width will grow into it.

This piece of gear replaces and old but reliable wifi router (MN-700). Setup was very easy and the flexability is fantastic. I really enjoy being able to setup Qos and having two seperate radios for traffic dedication. I haven't used it yet but the readyshare option is something else that really turned me on to this unit.

Replacement for an old and inherently crippled Microsoft network router. Easy to bring up, if you have current equipment. Some difficulty with an XP laptop's wireless; only works on a cable. This may simply reflect my ineptitude.

replaced an aging linsys router that frankly served me well for years. I liked that the Netgear router had guest network. It was very easy to setup, I find it to be very stable and the range is decent (not quite as good as my external antenna Linksys, but definitely suitable for my needs. It sits on first floor my office is in the basement and have computers on second floor as well. It is also frequently used outdoors on the patio so its definitely fine through floors and walls. The 5ghz network is not as strong as the 2.4 so using the 2.4 mostly. I would buy again.

A little difficult to install, but that's also because I don't really know anything about networking.
It's a little big, but it does give visitors to our office wireless.

Comments about Netgear Rangemax Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router:
Over the years I have owned three Netgear wireless routers and this one is sweet. Nice strong signals, high speeds, USB port on router, easy one button setup for most wireless gear. I hooked storage to the usb port and the transfer rates seem quite good. I also am running wireless Directv Showroom and the movies and shows also seem to load quite fast through the router. The router is located on the top floor and reception has been good with an expected decrease in the 5GHZ channel.
Overall I would highly recommend this router.
