When I first purchased the wide angle lens to which the filter is attached, I refrained from filtering on the first round of photos. The difference is night and day! I am considering this filter for my other lens (and future lens purchases). While in Europe next year, I will be taking a LOT of photos, and this will definitely be using my SLR more than a point-and-shoot, because of this filter!

I like this one better than the B+W because you can attached the P Cokin Adapter ring to it to add ND filters, etc. I'm purchasing another one so I can use it on my other lens.

Very Durable and all you need to protect your investment. I do alot of active photography and I shoot a lot near saltwater. You do not want to be getting water (spray) on the actual lens, so just be proactive and protect your investment. This UV filter does the job and cuts down on glare like it is suppposed to do.

I needed a filter to protect my Sony 11-18mm f/4.5-5.6 LENS. The price was right. I didn't have to search far for the product.

Even though this is not an accessory that necessarily stands out, a UV filter is vital to protecting your lens. This particular filter does the job well and was priced well. A good buy. You should definitely use some type of filter at all times to protect your lens from scratches or worse.

Not only does this reduce UV light, dust, scratches and other mishaps... but the coating also enhances color and contrast across the picture.

Expensive but a good filter
Comments about Hoya 77mm Ultraviolet UV(0) Haze Glass Filter:
Not much more to say other than cheap insurance for an expensive lens. I will say that the resulting image quality over a cheaper filter is noticeably better. Particularly with respect to haze. Having said that, I'll spend the extra few $$$ for the Hoya from now on.

Bought to protect my Sigma 10-20mm Wide-Angle lens. Filter is decent quality, nothing spectacular; price is good too.

Comments about Hoya 77mm Ultraviolet UV(0) Haze Glass Filter:
This is an everyday filter that I use to protect my lens more than I worry about the UV value. I bought the Hoya filter after a much cheaper UV filter I bought broke. I think that you could find a filter for a better price like I did before but I bought Hoya for the quality.

Purchased for my new 80-400 Nikon lens. Rather replace a scratched filter than the lens. Wouldn't use this lens without a filter attached.

[...]. High quality UV filter with a smooth fit. Scratched my old UV filter, which is the best reason to always use a UV filter. It's a lot cheaper than tossing a scratched lens!

It's on my Nikon 70-200mm lense. Lot's of outdoor photography so it protects the lense and does a great job of correcting UV for clearer pictures.
