The Sony D2M-64M Digital D2 Video Cassette, Medium Shell provides a new standard in composite video performance. A low error rate supports the D-2 format's transparent multi-generation dubbing capability. The tape uses ultra-fine metal magnetic particles to raise retentivity to 250mT and coercivity to 119.4kA/m. The binder has 50% higher cross-linking that reduces particulate drop-off to less than one percent, one fourth that of previous tapes.
