The EVA2000 Digital Entertainer Live Network Media Player from Netgear gives you the freedom to watch network, stored, or online media on your television. HDMI and Composite ports allow it to connect with most television sets, while an Ethernet port makes connecting the device to your home network easy. Comments about Netgear EVA2000 Digital Entertainer Live Network Media Player:
I'm ditching the dish, the cord, the fiber and cutting my bill by 150 bucks a month for Internet only service so I am currently looking for a TRUE media extender device. Unforunately, the "EVA2000 Digital Entertainer" does not fit the bill. Like the ROKU network media player, the netgear has certain channels built in but it will not stream from a Windows PC. That is great as long as you don't already own a PC with a sizeable media store, and want to rely solely on internet based media sources, mostly subscription based, to play your content.
The device will play files directly from a HDD usb drive, but Western Digital has several HDD capable media devices available for considerably less than this device. Personally, I was not impressed with the performance or usability of this player. Also, I though for the price it should definitely have included more Web based features.
