Panasonic does not include a battery charger with certain models like the Lumix DMC-ZS15, forcing us to charge the battery in the camera. An external battery charger is much faster and we are not tying up our camera just to charge it, which is a slow process.

I have purchased Panasonic battery chargers and batteries before for my Lumix in 2008, and they are holding a charge like the day they were bought. Highly recommended!

This charger should be included with all Lumix DMC-ZS15 cameras. It was a very poor decision to substutude it for a cord that only allows charging through a computer. This makes it ompletely useless for travelling, unless you carry a computer. Hope Panasonic rethinks this omission!

I bought this to replace the original charger that I lost while travelling. The reviews I read about other generic chargers were poor and they didn't seem to work properly.
B&H was the only place I could find an original Panasonic charger. It works as stated. I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend this product.

Several models online were available with car adapter for even less money, but I wanted one like the original Lumix brand and style. A friend lost their original charger. Initially they used a generic charger but that did not give a full charge, giving only around 100 shots per charge. I purchased this genuine charger for them and now they obtain full operating time.

My advice, don't waste your money on a generic charger, the genuine charger is not expensive and properly charges the battery.

When you need a spare charger, go with the one made by the manufacturer. This thing is small, as it was only designed for the one battery, and not to be adapted to fit multiple types, and relatively rugged. How hard on a charger are you going to be, especially compared to the camera itself. Only problem is I wish it was less expensive, but hey, you pay for quality.
