The Bonica Snapper Dive 1080P HDDV Digital Media Camcorder Dual Lighting & Lens Kit includes everything you need to take amazing underwater video and still photographs. The kit is built around the innovative XP system (stands for extra protection) that safeguards the camcorder against moisture by having a completely water-tight silicone skin around the camera, much like a dry suit. While inside the skin, the camcorder is an all-weather camcorder fit for all outdoor activities. The skin protects the camcorder from rain, snow, sand and scratches. When the camcorder is inside the hard housing, it is ready to be submerged to 180'. In case moisture gets inside the housing, the digital camera is fully protected. The Bonica Snapper Dive 1080P HDDV is a miniature camera that resembles some digital still photo cameras in its vertical layout.
The camcorder has a 2.4" LED monitor that allows easy and fun framing, even when wearing a mask. The Bonica Snapper Dive 1080P HDDV does not use video tape, but writes onto inexpensive SD cards. In fact, a 4 GB card will record over 90 minutes of video. Because the recording process uses no moving parts, the card can be reused more times than a video cassette. Hi-Definition 1440 x 1080P resolution video at 30fps, Action Video Mode at 1290 x 720P resolution at 60fps, 5MP digital stills with software to make them 8MP stills, and a built-in video light are just some of the many features this stylish camera comes with.
Image quality increases greatly when you move in close and eliminate as much water as possible between you and your subject. You never want to be more than 2' away from your subject. The included Bonica Wide-Angle Conversion Lens has a 58° angle of view. This allows you to get closer to large subjects. This will increase the overall quality and color of your footage and still images. When shooting small subjects you can remove the wide-angle lens, and store it on the included Bonica Lens Holder, that can be positioned on the light arm.
Lights are extremely important for your underwater imaging system. The ocean is one big, blue filter. As you descend, the reds and oranges quickly become muted shades of blue and gray. Shining a color-corrected light source on your subject will bring back your subjects' natural color. For this reason the kit includes 2 Bonica G8V15 LED Video Lights that have daylight balanced 6500° K LED bulbs that are perfect for this purpose. The 60° beam angle is wide enough for wide scenes shot with the included wide-angle lens, and the light does not produce hot spots. The G8V15 has six 3W (15W total) LED bulbs that provide 1500 lumens of light. Eight 2400 mAh NiMH rechargeable AA batteries (not included) power the light for 60 minutes of full-power burn time. This is bright enough and long enough for you to to capture some amazing footage. Having 2 lights gives you more creative control over your lighting. The LED bulbs run at a cool temperature, so the light can be used above and below the surface. The kit includes the tray, handles, and ball joints, so you can connect the lights to your housing and position them perfectly for your video or still photos.
Some times you might be better shooting your footage with available light. In order to color-correct these scenes the kit comes with a Bonica Orange Filter for correcting the blue color of salt water. The kit also includes a Bonica Magenta Filter for correcting the green color of fresh water. These filters are a effective up to 80' (24m) of water.
The included Bonica Soft Travel Bag is perfect for transporting your Snapper Dive 1080P HDDV with all its accessories, including lights, to your favorite dive destination. It is the correct size carry-on for all major airlines, and is lightweight but padded to protect your gear. The Bonica Soft Travel Bag is constructed from water-resistant nylon and PVC, with rust-proof plastic hardware. The bag has many convenient features including 2 zipped pockets, removable shoulder strap, carry handle, and side pockets for water bottles. All of this makes the bag your perfect travel buddy.
