The Audio-Technica AT-LP60 Belt-Drive Turntable is straightforward and completely automatic for vinyl enthusiasts in need of a turntable to complement their existing home-theater and stereo systems. Its fully automatic operation starts the platter when the tone arm is lifted, and brakes when the needle is positioned on its mount. The turntable features phono (turntable level) outputs, however a built-in preamplifier features line-level outputs for connecting to amplifiers without turntable inputs. The ATLP60 features 33 1/3 and 45 RPM speeds.

For someone brand new to turntables this may seem like an amazing deal, but spending some extra money or buying a TT second hand is a much better idea. The main attraction of this turntable (besides price) is its ease of use, but the negatives of this TT far outweigh the positives. The arm is incredibly cheap and does not have a counterweight for tracking adjustment, nor does it have an anti-skate feature. While this probably keeps the price down, these are necessary features, especially if you decide to upgrade anything (which I'm not even sure you can do on this one). The build quality is also sub par. The whole thing is flimsy plastic and feels like a toy.
Does it play records? Yes. Does it sound decent? Yes. But over time it is very likely to wear your records down much faster since it does not have the proper balancing features. A good entry level cartridge costs as much as this TT does, so if you're looking for anything that you want to last for awhile, this isn't it. Don't fret though, because there are options that don't cost much more.
I would recommend this TT if you are in a situation where you don't care if it gets broken or need a backup for some reason. Otherwise just hang tight for a bit and buy a higher quality TT, which is what I did after I returned it and I am very glad I did.

Encounter looking to get into spinning records.
The TT was packaged well, and delivered faster than promised.

Comments about Audio-Technica AT-LP60 Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable:
This turntable works as advertised for playing a small collection of records.
The only small annoyance is that there are two controls for specifying the type of record being played. A control for the speed (33/45) and the size (7"/12"). Most turntables I have used in the past only have one control. However, as long as you are aware of what type of record you are trying to play, it isn't too much of an issue.

I had a large Collection of records that were passed down to me and I wanted a way to start enjoying them without spending an arm and a leg! This unit is a great way to get started. Fully automatic Belt driven makes it very easy to use, just put the record on and press the button and you can start listening to the classics. Its great because as you get more into it you can start replacing the cartridges and really start to get a great sounding unit.

Very good sound for the money. Feeling of buttons is a bit cheap, but overall fit and finish is good. Nicer looking than comparable Sony products.

Comments about Audio-Technica AT-LP60 Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable:
I never thought I'd say it but many of my vinyls sound better than my CDs of the same albums.
I bought this for my wife for Christmas 2011 since she is a business manager for a number of indie bands and they send her copies of their albums on vinyl. To test it and come up with a simple workflow to get them onto her laptop/iPod, I tried it with my old LPs that had sat for nearly 20 years! Here's how:
I connected the line output to a Presonus FireStudio audio interface and recorded the audio with Presonus Studio One Pro. Listening through my near-field monitors, keyboard amps and a variety of headphones, I was a tad disappointed when comparing against the CD recording of the same material. In particular, it sounded a bit nasally. BUT - the audio software lets me adjust the EQ. All it needed was a reduction in the mid range (1 to 2kHz) and a slight boost in the high range. The result? Remarkable. The results sound better than the CD. The bass is much warmer and really drives the rhythm of the classic rock material. There is a depth to the stereo image that the CD versions simply lack. The reason for not checking "Excellent Sound" as a pro is just because the out-of-box sound does this product something of a disservice. I have a friend who is a retired sound engineer for the BBC and he agrees with the above.
Of course, the downside of LPs is the pops and clicks. I bought a program that removes the clicks and pops. Once "declicked", I convert tracks to high quality MP3s, add cover art and that's it.
Best thing - I don't have to buy CDs of my old LPs. Given the terrible "fad" of digitally remastering CDs, it's great news. For LPs I no longer have but recorded to cassette, I will buy used LPs to get the artwork and more enjoyable sound quality.
Love it.

When I started looking into a way to play vinyl records I didn't have much knowledge in the area. But I did some research and heard good things about this turntable. This turntable has great build quality and is extremely easy to use, there's some minor set up required but nothing too daunting. The best part for me was the ease of use, if like me, you don't know much about turntables and all, this is great. And with the cords provided you can connect to just about any speakers or audio source you have. I would recommend this product to everyone.

Sleek and minimalist, the LP60 looks like it could easily be at a higher price point. The unit is well constructed and should last quite a while with the proper care. In the event of wear, replacement needles and parts can easily be obtained through Audio-Technica.
The functions are basic and straightforward. It plays records and the sound quality is perfectly fine as I have it going through a Bose Wave unit. One could not ask for more at this price point.

This is a basic design that will do what you need, & that's play your records. It lacks too many buttons, but is an easy set-up to understand. With the RCA outputs in the back, you could either directly plug in speakers, or run it to a receiver for sound with the included RCA cables. I plan on playing some Christmas albums for the friends & family, jazz records on rainy nights, and the easily accessible records sold at my local record retailer. It has a simple design, it's easy to use, & I recommend it if simplicity is what you want.

If there's an advantage to having a USB input, I don't know what it is. This plays records through computer speakers via the mic input fine. A lovely item.

After struggling to get an older turntable to work due to my stereo not having a phono input, I am happy to say this turntable, with it's build in pre-amp, plays loud and clear. Excellent build and automatic operation works perfectly. Haven't had any issues so far and for the money this is a perfect buy. Can't image how a more expensive turntable could sound any better!
