The Audio-Technica AT-LP60USB Belt-Drive Turntable is straightforward and completely automatic for vinyl enthusiasts in need of a turntable to complement their existing home-theater and stereo systems. Its fully automatic operation starts the platter when the tone arm is lifted, and brakes when the needle is positioned on its mount. The turntable features phono (turntable level) outputs, however a built-in preamplifier features line-level outputs for connecting to amplifiers without turntable inputs. The ATLP60USB features 33 1/3 and 45 RPM speeds.

Pleasant appearance--we keep the turntable out in the open. Records rival CDs in sound IMO. Watching a record spin is nostalgic.

Turntable works fine out of box. Connected to rather old amp thru PHONO input and results sound results were better than I expected Product as well as B & H service were/are excellent/ Have not had opportunity to use TT to xfr material to CD/DVD yet. Have downloaded latest Audicity version to my MAC running 10.7 and plan on doing some transfers in the near future

Compact size, easy to use, good price with all the right outputs (USB for computer transfer and RCA for external speakers). I only wish it had a 78 RPM speed setting.

Comments about Audio-Technica AT-LP60USB Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable:
This is an excellent turntable at an excellent price especially for playing those oldies but goodies from the 60's and 70's and even some 80's before digital music. There is a connection option and software for saving your music onto your computer but why? You will need a set of speakers- a pair of computer speakers will be great.

I'm happy with what I picked out. I really like that it has auto stop and start. Looks good and sounds good - I hooked it up to a tivoli desktop radio with one speaker only, and it works fine for me. I should mention though, that I've played records on it maybe 10 times, and it skipped once on a record that didn't have any visible scratches. Hopefully that won't be a regular issue.

Comments about Audio-Technica AT-LP60USB Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable:
I purchased this turntable for my mother for Christmas as she wanted to get back into listening to her records. With the pre-amp, all I had to do was hook some speakers up to it and, without any fuss, music was playing. Sure, there's a few things you have to install before using it, mostly so it's not damaged during shipping, but it took no time at all to set it up.
If you want no fuss so you can dive back into your collection, or start one, this TT is an excellent bang for your buck.

I bought this for my 16 year old son who is getting in to vinyl records, particularly my old ones. Every time he comes down from listening to them he is excited at how 'awesome' the record player is. It does have a line out so he uses his IPOD speakers and you can also rip the albums to MP3's via a USB cable. Very good sound as well. I recommend this item.

Comments about Audio-Technica AT-LP60USB Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable:
APPEARANCE/BUILD QUALITY:
I think a lot of smart choices were made here to turn in a decent product at a low price point. Yes most of the chassis/drive construction is plastic, but it is tastefully designed, and there are some better materials where it matters i.e. the platter is aluminum and comes with a nice thick felt pad for records to rest on.
PERFORMANCE/SOUND QUALITY:
I should start by saying that I've unfortunately never heard a true high end turntable, so i can't claim to know just how good the sound quality from vinyl can really get. Also, most of the records i'm dubbing are 40-60 years old, which means both the condition of the records and the quality with which they were originally mastered are probably impacting my impression of this unit's sound quality somewhat. That being said, I have tried one new vinyl to see how this player would do, and it's not bad. Sound quality through the line-outs directly into powered speakers is decent, if a bit lacking in low-end frequency response, as well as general depth and quality of imaging. Once the unit is hooked to a computer via USB (or line input, for that matter), the included (or freely downloadable for the current version) Audacity software can do some pretty nice, precise EQing work. If you put in some time with Audacity, the sound can clean up pretty nicely. While the unit understandably falls shy of the sound quality i would expect out of a CD player or a high-end turntable, I'm definitely pleased with it for the price. It looks good, it's easy to use with automatic operation that works consistently and well, it delivers decent sound quality (which can be further enhanced through Audacity), and USB connectivity for $100. It also bears noting that it comes with a nice assortment of cables to facilitate not only connection to female right and left RCA's, but also to USB and a male 1/8" connector (the type found on virtually all powered/computer speaker systems). To sum up, I'd buy it again.

Comments about Audio-Technica AT-LP60USB Fully Automatic Belt-Drive Turntable:
This is a great starter turntable. Easy to set up with excellent documentation. The turntable offers many useful options including a USB connection that allows direct vinyl to computer transfer or alternatively through RCA connectors to your own preamp. It offers much for a price of less than $100. It is missing expensive options that adjust for antiskate and stylus pressure. These would put it in a class of turntables that are several hundred dollars more and the turntable appears to perform well without these additions. As a starter turntable you can't go wrong.
