I use this bag to carry a 055X Pro tripod with 496 Ball head. The equipment fits with some extra head room (maybe an 1-2 inches; 2.52-5.04 cm). There is plenty of room in the sides for the tripod to fit comfortably. There is a zipper on the interior that is able to hold thin/small items, but I do not use it. The material is rugged enough that I am comfortable setting it down just about anywhere. I do not know if it is water resistant or water proof, but the material feels like it is at least resistant. I do not suggest taking my word for it and risking your equipment, whatever it may be.
The shoulder strap is gummy and comfortable to use slung over a shoulder, worn like a messenger bag, or set shoulder-to-hip (like a sword, I guess). The bag is soft enough that the tripod inside does not cause any discomfort when worn shoulder-to-hip for long hikes. The shoulder strap is not very long. Left at default, the tripod bag will hug me to a degree. I am of slender build (138 lbs at 6 ft; 62.6 kg at 182.8 cm).
Bottom line:
If you want a bag to carry a tripod and not much else, look no further (unless you need a different length). If you want more of a duffel bag, I suggest looking at other products. I listed its minimalistic nature as a con only to make it clear should one skip the review and read only the pro/con bit. I don't feel its minimalist design to be a con, but others may.

I was looking for a case/bag for my Manffrotto 055xprob tripod with HorusBennu LX-3T ball head. I googled it but i couldn't find what i want. After weeks i found this bag, 55398 Magnesyt Series Tripod case by Cullmann. This tripod is exactly what i want. This tripod is compact, padded, have an amazing shoulder strap (you need to touch it by your self), easy to use, fits well, sturdy and relatively cheap.

Case is good with enough thick of pad and strong material. price also in reason. Diameter are too big to contain any tripods.

I love this case! I wasn't willing to spend a couple hundred dollars on some fancy tripod case. I just needed something a little better than the cardboard box the thing came in to carry and store it in. This case is PERFECT! No, it doesn't have any padding, but if you're a casual photographer who takes care of your gear that just isn't a problem. The case has a generous zippered pocket inside to hold straps or a remote shutter release. The carry strap has a gel-like shoulder pad that's incredibly comfortable. All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better case to fit my needs.

Comments about Cullmann 55398 Magnesyt Series Tripod Case:
The bag is easy large enough for the Cullmann 525M tripod, with either a large ballhead or 3 way pan handle. The one leather end protects ballhead and the sling carry strap is very comfortable - unlike the carry strap on Tamrac's sling velocity bags, I might just add. All is all very good.

Comments about Cullmann 55398 Magnesyt Series Tripod Case:
If you own a Magnesit tripod, you can't go wrong with this case. It's a great deal for the price. I carried a Cullman Magnesit 525 around Italy for a week in this, and had no issues. Fit the tripod great. I didn't notice it at first, but there is also a rather large pocket on the inside that comes in handy for accessories and whatnot. The bag is lightweight and durable, but don't expect super thick padding.

My Manfrotto 055CXpro3 with Acratech head fits perfectly.
The case is light and comfortable to carry.
No handle but it has a good shoulder strap.
Only one end is covered in leather, the base that would be set on the ground while carrying on your shoulder. For the price it is very good quality

I bought this for a Manfrotto fluid monopod, the other cases would have cost me 3x. The lenght is just right, the finish is nice and simple. It is a merit that you can always see where the bottom end of your tripod is, Cullmann was good enough to put some leather there.
The strap is fine, adjustable, yank your gear in and off you go! Shoot some good pix today.

There are nicer cases for a lot more money. This is a great case for the price. Not much padding, but well made and very secure. Tripod fits great with no unwanted bulk. Easy to carry. If you need a lot of padding, go ahead and spend the extra money because you might be disappointed with this one. For me, just what I need for not a lot of $.

Just got the tripod case today.
I have Manfrotto 055CXPRO3 with 498RC midi ball head & plate together about 31 inches long. This case is the perfect size for this set up.
It's well made, pretty sturdy with padding and the shoulder strap is very comfortable.

Comments about Cullmann 55398 Magnesyt Series Tripod Case:
I really love this tripod case--it looks very stylish and is very durable with the leather endcaps. The strap is very comfortable because of it's streatchiness. The level of padding is perfect for field use--enough to feel confident that your gear is safe, but not too much so that the case is too bulky. I use the case for my Bogen 3021Pro tripod with an Arca Swiss B1 monoball, which fits perfectly inside. There was also enough room to add a Lowepro lens case over the the ballhead, for extra protection (it is a rather expensive ballhead!). With the case over the head, the entire outfit fits perfectly snug in the case--not too tight, not too loose.
I was surprised that this case new cost as much as an unpadded Bogen/Manfrotto case used. I like this bag so much more (I ordered and returned the Bogen), and wouldn't hesitate to buy this bag again if my current one is ever lost or damaged.
The only problem I have with the case is lack of a handle to carry by hand. It may look more stylish without the small carry handle, but it would be nice to have one, rather than having to resort to carry the tripod by the strap.

Very nice quality. The strap at the shoulder is cushy, grippy, and stretchy, so nice. Has an inside pocket for small items. This product was purchased to go with a different brand legs and head. After seeing the quality of this bag, I would definitely buy this and other Cullmann products again.
