So I had a shoot In South Jersey. It was for a Doc. about race boats and their crews. We where using a HVX200A and a pair of Lectrosonics and a boom running into a 302 then to a field recorder. And of course we forgot our clapper that we left in NYC. We where trying to think of anything we can use to sync up the audio to the video. Everything from clapping hands infront of the cam to stopping at [@] and buying 2 blocks of wood we can just clap. Then we stopped at some local DVD store and sure enough was this gift. We bought it for cheap price and noticed the clapper itself was stiff and wouldnt swing fast enough to make a loud clap. A little bit of WD-40 and bam. The slate was working like a champ. By the 50th clap a pice broke off but nothing a little Gaf. Tape couldnt fix, it got the job done. Two thumbs up for this clapper, it really saved the day for us.

A very simple product, excellent for very low budget or films without a budget at all. The simple chalk board is simple to enter and the information can be clearly seen in the cameras frame. However, for major motion picture makers, I suggest avoiding this product. The clapper stick is held on only by a small screw, indicating that excessive use for this product would eventually break the product entirely. Nonetheless, great for film amateurs, a nice cheep price, and does what it is supposed to. I suggest getting a very expensive clapper, even one with time code, if you are interested in a high budget.

Comments about Delta 1 Chalkboard Production Slate:
I got the clapper as a gift for my filmmaker friend, first time he opened it the bottom section snapped and fell off. I was extremely embarrassed but it was ok. I guess you get what you pay for, I don't think its worth the cost. It is poorly made and is way smaller than pictured. It looks good but not what was described. Will not be buying from this company anymore.

I bought two of these clapboard for my students are creating their first film. They worked well for what I needed them to do. There is nothing fancy abou them, but they do what is required. Nice and compact for carring. Excellent for high school use.

Comments about Delta 1 Chalkboard Production Slate:
This production slate by Delta may seem like a simple toy to be used with the very popular "Production Assistant" Halloween costume, but it does work well for the budget film maker. I recently purchased and used it for syncing two video cameras and sound for a 3D film, and it does work well. It makes loud wooden snaps and it's small size makes it easy to fit into bags, but the hinge is tight and needed to be oiled. The chalkboard is useless, but by verbally telling what each shot at take is, you can get by with this little slate.

This clapper worked great to sync my audio and 2 video cameras. I had an H2 Zoom hooked to the audio system, had someone clap by the microphone with both cameras running - synced perfectly during the edit.

only problem was the glue was not strong to hold the second wood piece onto the board, but I ended up nailing the piece down so it would stay in place

Comments about Delta 1 Chalkboard Production Slate:
I had ordered 3 of these for my agency since they were inexpensive -- one of them the screw for the hinge was loose & the black & white striped piece had come off (was held on only by 2 tiny nails & a bit of glue, so I put some "Gorilla Glue" on it). Easy to fix -- would be functional for light duty use.

The Delta Video Scene Clapper is really important piece on every movie set. It contains all important information and is practical. What else can we say accept the fact how much this Clapper means in making some kind of order, awareness and seriousness on our set.
