Standard notebooks are not designed to be waterproof and their pages will bloat and disintegrate when they get wet. The Pocket Notebook from Rite in The Rain features 50 spiral bound sheets of water-resistant paper with a universal page pattern - this is a go-anywhere works-all-the-time journal in a convenient 3x5" format.
While this all-weather pad can be used successfully with most pens, the best performance will be realized when using the Rite in the Rain All-Weather pen.

I am a professional SCUBA diving instructor and I use these notebooks while diving. I have some of them that have made 50 plus dives and are still in fine shape. Once the pages are dry, pencile can be erased with a common reaser. Under water pencile can be erased by rubbing firmly with your finger. Great product!

This holds up well in my back pocket, where I keep it for jotting down the to-do list. My plain paper pocket planner went through the wash, which is why I went looking for something like this. I would have liked to have one in the standard pocket calendar format, instead of just lines, but this works. The paper is heavier and almost plastic like. It works fine with a regular ink pen.
