The CP5 from Yamaha is a fully-featured stage piano ideal for studio and touring musicians. The piano has an 88-key NW-STAGE wooden weighted keyboard to provide a realistic piano feel. The piano uses Yamaha's Spectral Component Modeling (SCM) tone generation system to provide rich, natural sounds, including 17 different acoustic and electric pianos, with 305 other tones, including organs, strings, and more. There is also a customize function that lets you create original piano sounds.
The piano offers terrific connectivity for connection to a variety of systems and devices. It has 1/4" and XLR outputs, MIDI in, out, and thru jacks, a USB to Host port, and standard mic and headphone connectors. It also has standard 1/4" pedal and foot controller jacks, and a pedal unit is included. Other features of the piano include 5-band EQ, integrated effects, and recording and playback functions for both MIDI and audio. Steinberg Cubase AI DAW software is bundled, allowing you to create and manipulate songs on your computer.

Very poor sound quality. The "thumping" sound of the keys is actually louder than 12 of the piano key musical sounds. Might as well purchase a 76 keyboard. The sound quality is about 25% that of an ipod.

I don't get it, but it can't be because I am a beginner at the piano. The CP 5 has the same wonderful wooden keys, and the same wonderful piano sounds as the CP 1, at half the price. The CP 5 also includes a ton of wonderfully sampled sounds/instruments that the CP 1 does not have.The piano itself is a bit heavy to be carrying around, but I would carry a mountain for the sound of this piano. It feels like a real piano, too; the heft of the keys decreasing as you play higher notes. I'm really happy with my purchase from B&H as well. their price was very competitive, and I needed the $200 gift card to purchase accessories that I wanted from B&H.[...].Myself, having worked for a company that could not quite get the handle of it, B&H really does it right.

This stage piano sounds amazing! The feel of the wooden keys, seamless velocity change and the sampled/modeled sounds of the grand pianos make this a winner. The added bonuses are the mic rec, USB to Device/Device to USB, and additional voices. Settings are very easy to use/change.
