Used this drive to replace the infamous Seagate 7200.11 drive of the same capacity. While several of the those drives kept failing, this WD has held up reliably without any problems in a RAID-5 configuration.

This pops into a Mac Pro hard drive slot in about three minutes. It then mounts with Disk Utility where you name your drive or multiple partitions.
The drive itself is quiet. 15GB/$ seems reasonable for hard disk storage.

Bought 3 of these drives as part of B&H's combo kit with the Drobo FS. Key point of satisfaction is that the drives are queit, and spin down when not in use. Shifting lots of data off my PCs and many little external drives onto the Drobo array.

[...].The drives are surprisingly quiet and not as warm as I have experienced with other 7.2k RPM drives.I've always sworn by Seagate hard drives for mission critical data but the price was too good to pass up for these drives. Running RAID1 in a home media server these should be just fine.Time is the real measure of quality with hard drives so I can't give 5 stars until they have been in service for a couple of years.
