i was very mad when i saw the scratches on my lcd screen and this solves more problems than that it does its main job of blocking sun well but since it attaches to the eye cup holder i tend to be gentle with it.

At present. Im taking videos and photos using the pop up shade. While using it during video making outdoors in bright light. or out at night the shade worked great on the cameras lcd. Likewise while taking photos in similar situations, and checking for composition and correct exposure using the lcd. In fact I leave it on most of the time. If I do not need it such as when doing multiple shots using the viewfinder I will close the shade. It works good right out of the box, and was easy to install. All the cameras buttons operate weii wiyh the shade on and it offers protecion for the lcd. The shade does what it is supposed to without causing any difficulties thus far. All in all a reliably good product.

The concept of this item is fantastic! Its not very user friendly though as you really have to MASH the buttons to get the function keys to work. I love this on my camera if I'm out on a bright day and want to review my photos, but its a pain having to open it up then close it every time.
Love the concept...hate the complicated nature.
I don't use it anymore...easier to just use my hand as a shade.

What makes this product a winner in my book is the easy install and remove ability. If it was hard to remove or install it wouldn't work so well, because it is not something you want or need all the time. By making it so easy to put on or take off it makes it a winner in my book! It works just as described, the added bulk is minimal but not something I want when it's not needed! I was pleasantly surprised at it's functionality and quality of construction.

The Pop-Up shade is great, it covers the screen so when taking a photo in a sunny place it is easy to view the pictures that were taken.
it is very robust and solid - protecting the screen.
The minus is that it blocks the eye vision screen (the place where you look when taking a photo) making it almost impossible to take a picture when the Pop-Up Shade is open.
Also it replaces the original camera buttons and pressing on the "new" buttons does not provide smooth user experience.

I shoot alot of outdoor sports and the pop-up makes it easier to review photo's, but what is more important is that you are protecting the screen on the camara from getting scratched. It is a wonderful product and I wish it was the first thing I bought for my camra.

The shade works perfectly well if you only use the screen/live view outside and you have no desire to use the viewfinder. Otherwise, you are forced to open and close the screen protection flap every time you wish to use view the screen and then use the viewfinder. It is not a speedy process. The product, though inconvenient and a little bulky, is of good quality and does its job well. The back side of the camera is most certainly protected.

its great when your outside hiking and you want to play with your manual settings in the sun. The only problem i have with is so far is you cant really see what pictures you just took with the hood down, also it seems quite flimsy

I use the shades For outdoors mostly.

I find a great feature using this product that helps protect the rear area of my camera.

I find not so great that sometimes it is cumbersome to close it.

This product works great and greatly reduces the glare and sunlight on the LCD screen, while protecting the LCD screen from scratches. I find it to be handy when using the video option with high sunlight you can still see the LCD. It is a little annoying however because you have to close the cap everytime to shoot a photo because it is in the way of your eye cup to shoot photos. However you can remove the flaps and use it solely as a protective screen as well. The buttons all operate perfectly for me.

It is a very nice piece. But for me, it does not work very good. As I have my camera confirgured to show the picture for two seconds, this became a problem, because when I looked thrue the viewfinder and the door was open, well its not nice to get the door on your nose! But well, the protection of the Screen is good and the product fits well on my quipment. Bests!

I like that it covers and protects my camera screen. However, the "shade" doesn't work like I thought it would. I still have a hard time seeing when shooting in the sun.
