A roof prism binocular with a hearty feature-set that's easy on the wallet and the environment? Yes! - the Monarch ATB 12x42 from Nikon is here - it's layered with assets, and it won't break the bank when you bring one home.
Nikon's proprietary lead and arsenic free optical-glass formula, known as Eco-Glass, is used for all lenses and prisms in this fine Monarch binocular. All of the air-to-glass surfaces are fully multicoated to ensure maximum light transmission, sharpness, and contrast. The roof prisms are finished with a dielectric coating that enhances the efficiency of the optical system to near perfection.
This easy-to-handle optic is fully waterproof and fogproof, and a tactile rubberized exterior ensures a secure grip at all times. The centered focus knob is fast, accurate, and easy to use. A pair of multi-setting click-stop eyecups and a notable 15.4 mm of eye relief allow you to tailor the binocular to suit your needs - whether you're wearing glasses or not.

Hunting in big open country requires clarity and magnification. These binoculars do not disappoint. The lens caps are a little loose. I would recommend these to anyone.

Comments about Nikon Monarch ATB 12x42 Binocular (Black):
I have the Nikon Action 16x50 sitting on a tripod at my lakefront cottage and wanted a lighter pair to hand-hold. These Monarch 12x42 are great. Lighter than I expected. (Especially comparing it to the larger 16x50 pair I have.) Clear vision. Didn't need the water/fog proof feature. Mainly wanted good power and lightweight.

I bought this pair of binoculars specifically for travel to Africa to Fotossesiya.
Very light optics, a very comfortable grip - Ergonomics.
Beautiful picture of binoculars. Convenient for people wearing glasses. I'm happy for myself that
after much deliberation chose this pair of binoculars. Magnification and image
excellent. Thanks to this production watched hunting giparda. Distance
was about 1 - 1.5 km

Comments about Nikon Monarch ATB 12x42 Binocular (Black):
This was my second Binocular and earlier I have used Bushnell 12x50 (Porro Prism) which I gifted to my brother and opted for this product. This is much better in quality and construction. The only problem is that the end caps are very loose and chances are that you may misplace it any time.

Comments about Nikon Monarch ATB 12x42 Binocular (Black):
I use these binoculars for birding and the 12x is not an issue for me but some people have a problem holding these steady. The optics are as good as it gets for the price. If you want to spend $1500 or more you can find better binoculars but for the price these are as good as any that cost twice the price or more. The flaw is that the eye piece caps are way too big and fall off easily. I was able to rectify the problem by sticking some thin, smooth rubber strips cut to size on the inside of the caps and the fit is now nice and snug. The objective lens caps are also sub par. They are cheaply made, do not fit snugly and I don't like the way they are permanently tethered to the binoculars. Nikon must have been asleep when they designed both of these caps. I would still recommend these binoculars. I was aware of the issue with the caps before I purchased them but it was not a deal breaker. [...]

I was really wondering about buying this magnification, but I have to say I have been very happy with the way these work out. Granted, a pair of 8x would be steadier, but the extra distance I can gain with these is terrific. Hardly any color fringe, great warranty. Well made, comfortable to hold. I wish the end caps were a little tighter.
