Zacuto Z-FF-1-FR Flippable Reversible Z-Focus
The Zacuto Z-FF-1-FR Flippable Reversible Z-Focus is a follow focus mechanism for use with 15mm lightweight rods. The completely gear-driven design ensures very accurate adjustments with minimal play, while a helical gear adjustment screw can be used to further tighten the system. Designed to be easily switched from the operator's to the assistant's side of the camera, this model has the added feature of being able to quickly reverse focus direction--especially useful when using Nikon or Pentax lenses.

When you tighten the knob on the bottom it prevents slippage on the rods AND moves the gear closer to the lens.
This means you need to set the FF gear extra far from the lens gear before tightening so that when you lock the FF down your gears will mesh correctly.
Separate lock knobs for the rods and gears is the way to go for FF.

I really like that I can reverse and flip the gearing. That makes this follow focus a very nice piece of equipment to use. For me currently the teeth from the gear that mesh with the gear on the lens has a little bit of play, but other than that, this follow focus is great!
