Sony HDR-CX150 16GB HD Handycam Camcorder (Black)
Sony's HDR-CX150 16GB Handycam Camcorder is a mid-range high def camcorder that provides numerous features and functions. First and foremost among those features would be the storage options that the camera offers. Aside from recording to a 16GB internal flash memory the CX150 can record to optional Memory Stick Media or SD/SDHC memory cards. In addition, you can copy video and stills from the internal memory onto the removal flash memory cards for easy transfer.

This HD camcorder is everything we hoped for, and more! The image quality is crisp and HD clear. The controls are intuitive, and makes the camera easy to use right out of the box. On-board storage is ample. The extremely compact camera makes it perfect for "reality" type recording. It fits snugly in one hand, and can be easily attached to a helmet, glove, etc. to capture "point-of-view" video. Good low light image. We added the wide angle/macro lens for close up work. The camera yeilds super sharp images down to FRACTIONS of an inch from the subject. Camera connected easily to computer via USB. Video imported seamlessly into video editing software (we use SONY VEGAS). The ONLY feature that is not ideal is the AC adaptor/battery. The battery can only be charged while on the camera, with the AC unit that is included. It would very handy to be able to charge a spare battery separately. With the AC cable attached, the camera is somewhat difficult to hold.

I've tried a lot of alternatives, read several forums, and the result is that the only place where I can see my footage is in the same camera (or work in Pc).
And of course I won't edit or use it in my documentary work. I actually returned from Cuzco and I will have to forget all my footage because the SONY HDR-CX150 is a useless camera for me.
So, if you use a Mac, DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA, because its like throwing your money to the trash bin.
I'm very angry with Sony.

I use this camera with my Mac Book Pro and it immediately recognizes the video from the SanDisk or the camera cable. I edit in Final Cut or iMovie. Still photos go right into Photoshop as jpg. No problems and gorgeous pictures.

I love this little camcorder for it fits in my purse, it is very easy to whip out and film at a moments notice. It follows faces and makes sure they are in focus etc, films in low light beautifully, is stable when moving from one subject to the next, also when you want to take a photo it is extremely easy you just hit the button named photo and there you took it. Also the zoom is very steady and smooth. I have been very happy with it. It does need to have the battery be charged a bit more that than I would like but that is the brakes, and I am always forgetting to close the lens cap to keep it clean. So I have had to clean it a few times. Wish it had a place for a mic for interviews.

I bought to replace my mini DV handycam. I also own the DVDirect burner. I was up and running without any issues. I use it mostly for recording the family. When using the DVDirect to burn DVD's it was simple when using the one button push to record. DVD burns in minutes. Highly recommend this handycam to others. Haven't done low shooting yet so I can't comment on that. Don't have any cons about this handycam.

I am about to go travelling and I wanted a simple yet powerful product. This camcorder is exactly that - incredibly easy to use, very compact and very lightweight. The display screen is amazingly clear and function versability is very diverse - allowing even a novice like myself to get great results. Only downside I've found so far, is as a MAC user, I can only import the viseo files through iMovie, slightly annoying but not the end of the world. Alround great product.
