Sony DCR-SR88 120GB Handycam Camcorder
The standard definition Sony DCR-SR88 120GB Handycam Camcorder brings a number of practical and convenient features to the table. Foremost among them would be the various storage options. In addition to a 120GB hard disk drive, which can hold up to 91 hours of footage (SD LP mode), the camera also provides compatibility with Sony's Memory Stick media, as well as SD/SDHC memory cards.
Other core features of the DCR-SR88 include a 2.7" touch screen LCD, a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens with SteadyShot image stabilization, and a 1/8" Advanced HAD CCD image sensor. The LCD gives you widescreen composition and playback, along with 270° of rotation, and a touch panel for menu navigation. The Vario-Tessar lens brings with it the Carl Zeiss reputation for fine optics, while SteadyShot provides a reduction in blur caused by motion, commonly referred to as camera shake. And at the very heart of the SR88 the camera's 1/8" CCD sensor helps to capture quality video and still images with clarity.
In addition to these features and functions the SR88 also has an LED video light for low light recording, and Power On by opening the LCD. Other popular features like Face Detection, Face Index, Direct Connect, and One Touch Disc Burn flesh out the camera's list of assets.

When it's time to review your video, simply search for what you want by selecting from among the detected faces displayed in the index

- Like chapters in a book, Film Roll Index helps you easily find desired scenes in video footage. When using this feature, the camcorder previews the beginning of scenes and can create scene indexes set at specified display intervals (3, 6, or 12 seconds and 1 or 5 minutes)

- Sony Picture Motion Browser software offers a simple, intuitive way to transfer, sort, and view your video and still images on your compatible PC. In addition, multiple output options let you burn your memories to DVD (optional), as well as take advantage of one click upload to a number of popular video and photo sharing sites
- Direct Connection with Optional DVD Burner

This little camcorder is a powerhouse in using it for traveling, birthday parties, family events/weddings! The ease of use is great! Another great thing about this small compact camcorder is that it comes with a Sony LCS-VA15 Soft Camcorder Case. I also love the fact that you can get an underwater housing for it and I plan on taking it when I go rafting and snorkeling or just playing around the pool.
