I also have considerable experience reworking the images produced by others. I recently discovered this product and ordered it along with another plug-in.
This software is intuitive, logical, selective and versatile. You can make any changes you want without affecting the original image whatsoever. The floating controls are a pleasure to use. AND the online tutorials from the vendor are superb.

I use Viveza 2 in both Lightroom 3 and CS5 and it's really useful to make quick changes to just one color. I needed to watch the tutorial on Nik Software's site to learn how to use it, but now I can change or enhance colors quickly and warm or cool the background to make the subject stand out. Definitely speeds up my proofing process.

Adobe Lightroom and Apple Aperture both have great color correction tools. You can even paint corrections in with the use of brushes.
But still, if you want to make color corrections just to a specific part of an image and don't want to change the colors of another area of the image, you need to paint. And sometimes this includes painting around complex edges.
In these cases Viveza really comes in handy. With laser-like focus you can set points you want to color correct. With one slider ou specify the area this correction should have effect. Then apply the changes, completely without the need of masks. Viveza intelligently only corrects only the colors your interested in. Sort of a combination of general color correction, but only applied to a specific part of the image like if painted in with a brush, but without the hassle to actually having to paint it.
So for advanced color correction, where it's just too tiresome doing it with Lightroom or Aperture, Viveza is a great choice.
I noticed if you zoomed into an image and maximize the window to fill a large part of your screen, the preview gets sluggish and slow. I don't think I have a very slow computer as I have a pretty new iMac. So I have to make the window smaller and can't use my screen real estate effectively.
Attention. Viveza is a color correction and not color effect or filter plugin. If you want artistic color effects you should have a look at Nik Software's Color Efex Pro.

I use this as a plug-in for Adobe Photoshop CS5. I love the ease if adding /removing light color this tool provides. The ability to add to a specific area or the the entire photo is great. I am just starting to sell my photos, this tool has allowed me to bump up the enhancements to add a special touch to my photos. The time saving this offers for the photo editing process is amazing.

This is a very useful package for combining braketed exposures. Easier to use than the HDR approach, although it does not generate 32 bit files with the possibility of absolute luminance calibration. Also, does not provide the ranges of output images possible with HDR software. However, it does do a good job of generating visually acceptable composite images that match fairly well what the eye sees. I use it mostly for landscape images that have a wide luminance range, such as sunsets. Also, for nighttime photography with bright and dark areas.

Viveza is great for adjusting brightness, shadows, hue, saturation and more of specific parts of an image without having to select an area. I use it to enhance an image. Viveza is great for adding saturation to the sky, grass or faces. I use it to bring back a brides dress if it is too bright and blown out. I use it to bring detail back into dark shadow areas like trees.
Viveza is easy to use. Just click on a color in a specific area to add a control point. Then with the pop up sliders, just adjust the brightness, shadows, hue, saturation and structure (Structure is what Viveza calls clarity or sharpness) and even add warmth to an image. Nik software creates a layer in Photoshop with a mask so you can paint in/out specific areas. Viveza is a plug-in for Photoshop, Lightroom and Aperture.
When activated your image is opened in Viveza for adjustments using a very simple interface then when you click OK your adjusted image is now a new layer in Photoshop. I haven't tried Viveza in Lighroom or Aperture yet.
You can copy and group control points. There are lots of features in Viveza 2. There are a number of new features that make it a must upgrade for first version Viveza users.
B&H has the best price I found for Viveza.

I had a shot with two ladies with a man just between them and a few feet behind they. With this program I was able to darken his face down enough that you know he is there but not with the ladies.
