The Sony NP-FV70 Rechargeable Camcorder Battery Pack (2060mAh, 8.4V) is a high capacity InfoLITHIUM V Series battery. InfoLITHIUM means that the NP-FV70 will display remaining battery life so you're never surprised by a loss of power in the middle of a shoot. The battery also features 15% higher capacity over the NP-FH50, and gives you the option to charge faster using Sony's optional AC-VQV10 fast charger.

Nice capacity. As someone else noted, this battery improves the camera's balance and feel in the hand. Initially, I thought it would be unhandy because it is larger than the standard FV50. I've had other Sony high capacity batteries that got in the way of the view finder and operations, but this one has no issues like that. It's just right.

Nice compact size (fits in the palm of your hand) so I am able to put it the outer pocket of the case that came with my video camera (HDV-CX160). Plug folds in so that the bottom is smooth when put away. Charging speed is similar to the charger that came with the camera and this would be the only thing I would improve.

The battery that comes with the Sony HDR-CX560V doesn't last long at all. This one seems to last hours. Yes, it sticks out a bit compared to the one that comes with the camera but I'd trade that over a long battery life any day. When you're recording an entire holiday show for your daughter's 3rd grade--you don't want to have to worry about swapping batteries. I'm thinking of buying another as a backup.
