It's a lot better than the battery that came w/ my HF M300 Canon Vixia.It lasted about 1 hr. 20 minutes.The original battery lasted about 30 minutes.It is about 15 minutes better than the extra battery I bought for my old Canon HV 40.Needless to say, if you are going to do any video beyond range of an electric outlet, you will need at least one of these.If I were rich, I would buy 5 more.I wrote the review because B&H offered to put me in a drawing for[$] gift card.But obviously my comments are generic and not meant to over-hype this product. Everyone knows u need extra batteries w/ camcorders. Sort of strange that Canon doesn't just put 2 of these in the box instead of the lame small one they give ya.

I have owned this for about 3 months and finally one of the terminals was crushed. I handled with care, it was just poorly manufactured. There was nothing I could have done, but the warranty does not cover that. Spend the extra 20 or so and buy cannon. Pearstone is poor quality!

The camera was used mostly for home movies. This battery pack did not run down on me during the Thanksgiving holiday. I never had to recharge it.

GREAT battery only gave it 4 stars cause I do alot of hockey movies and the battery doesnt do all that well in the cold rink, but out side of that it tripled the shooting time

I bought this as a 2nd battery for the canon xa-10 and it works great. The camera recognizes the battery and it holds its charge for about 3 hours give or take, using the lcd screen

Great battery at significant savings from the comparable Canon price gouge. Can't compare it for operation or length of charge since I haven't used the Canon 819 but it's a solid battery, as solid as the smaller Canon battery that came with the camera. I took it backpacking this last weekend, and it kept going for over about 5 hours of shooting.

There's not much to say about the battery. Besides it's great, lightweight, powerful and affordable. Just a really great product and an essential attachment for anyone with a video camera. HD or not you're going to want a lot of battery time. It's just easier and you don't have to run to outlets or fumble with tens of batteries. Does exactly what I need it to do. Lasts long. Powers my camera.

Great replacement battery for the original. I get about 3 hours of life with my Canon Vixia HF M31. Great for working on projects away from a power source. Battery is small enough to fit in a pocket of a small camera bag too.

I got this battery for my Canon HFS21 and it works great. Can run over 2hrs on the cameras full quality settings.... thats double the powers the battery that comes with the camera.... this item is a must if you are going to be shooting for long periods with out access to power.
