The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W330 Digital Camera (Black) makes it easy to captures photos with phenomenal clarity. Built into the camera is a beginner-friendly Function Guide that helps you navigate through the various functions and settings displayed on the LCD screen. The camera's 14.1 Megapixels allow you to make really large prints. The camera performs well even in low light, with its High Sensitivity mode with an ISO of 3200 and Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilization.
Fast moving subjects are not a problem since the camera can capture 1.8 frames-per-second. This, along with Motion Detection that adjusts ISO sensitivity and increases the shutter speed when motion is detected, will help ensure that you capture the decisive moment. To really see your subject in motion, the camera can shoot VGA movies.
Both stills and video are composed and viewed on the 3.0" LCD display. Even when shooting in a tight space, the 26mm wide-angle Sony 4X zoom lens will let you get your shot. Other user-friendly features include Face Detection, Smile Shutter, In-Camera Retouching Tools, and 8 Scene Modes. The lithium-ion battery will help you take many photos before having to recharge the battery.

For simple point and shoot photography. I wanted a small digital to carry on me everywhere so I could leave the larger DSLR at home. For more on the fly photography...and with groups of friends who have trouble standing still when I'm going for natural indoor lighting ;)
Great: very easy to use. more options than I expected, as far as manual control. Compact. Easy to turn flash on and off (seems silly, but I've found so many that make it really hard to turn off). Great quality photographs.
Not so great: Trouble focusing (the first time I used it was during a blizzard, and the auto-focus kept wanting to focus on closer range snowflakes when I was taking a picture of something in the distance) in low lighting and natural disasters :)

This is a decent looking camera. Body felt slightly more Plastic in texture(which would be acceptable to most)Stylish and definitely nothing to complain about in a [$] price range. This is a good gift. I haven't started using this as i bought this as a gift, but during the initial check everything looks good. The LCD screen is a big and very nice to look at. In all, for the price, and the brand-name, its hard to pass this by. You might want to consider the slightly expensive W350 camera, which i believe might be better in construction for the additional $40.

This camera is absolutely amazing. I had an olympus before that I liked and have also used Nikon and Sony, and this is by far the best of the group. You get so much for your money with Canon.
