The VX9 8.9" HD-SDI LCD Monitor brings industry-standard HD-SDI input to Ikan's line of affordable on-camera production monitors. With its sleek, high-resolution 1024 x 600 display, NTSC/PAL capability, wide range of aspect ratios and an improved feature set over last year's models, this monitor can truly roll with the big boys.
But the VX9 offers more than the ability to read uncompressed video from RED and other digital cinema cameras. It also provides numerous tools for viewing that video--including overscan, underscan, pixel to pixel, and even split-screen comparison. Need to flip the image or turn it on its side? The monitor sports 1/4-20 mounting holes on all four sides, letting you mount the VX9 in any orientation your shot requires.
This model comes with a Sony Battery Plate, so you can easily power it with the same DV batteries used by your camcorder.

Comments about Ikan VX9 8.9" HD-SDI LCD Monitor w/Sony Battery Plate:
I was lured into buying this monitor as it's one of the only models that have HD/SDI and HDMI inputs- so can be used with DSLRs and regular video cameras. So far the experience is dissapointing. The monitor lacks the colors and sharpness of the Sony and Panasonic monitors. The viewing angle is crucial and moving your head by an inch makes a huge difference. I think I can still use the monitor as a run-and-gun monitor. I like the light weight and being able to use my small camera batteries. but for studio work, I recommend getting a better monitor.
