The Redrock Micro M2 Encore Indie Bundle w/microX Flip (Nikon F Mount) supplies you with the basic components for bringing the look of cinema to your SD or HD video footage. The most crucial component is the M2 Encore Lens adapter, which attaches to the front of your camcorder and lets you shoot through any Nikon F 35mm photo lens. This delivers the enhanced image quality, shallow depth of field, and varied fields of view that are only possible with interchangeable, higher-end glass.

Also part of this package is a complete 15mm rod support system comprising two 18" stainless steel rods, baseplate with high riser, 72mm universal achromat, shim kit, and low riser (plus a Redrock hat!). And to make sure your image is shot (and viewed) properly, the microX Encore Flip accessory re-orients the upside-down version you get from using a 35mm lens adapter. If your camcorder already has image-flip capability, then we recommend the standard Indie Bundle instead.

Superior Underlying Technology
The M2 Encore uses the same core technology as products costing 10 times as much. This approach--known as the rotating ground glass method--is completely transparent when translating the image from the 35mm lens to your video camera. At the heart of the M2e is Redrock's patent-pending Cinescreen (tm) technology, a specially formulated proprietary image element that delivers the unique M2e film look.

The Redrock M2e adapter is the only adapter available that enables you to use both large lens apertures for shallow depth of field and smaller lens apertures for increased depth of field. This revolutionary level of flexibility allows you to use a consistent 35mm look for all your footage, not just shallow depth-of-field shots.

Collimating Lens Mount
The M2 Encore comes standard with a collimating lens mount that allows you to easily and precisely set your adapter so your lens distance markings and infinity focus are precise. All new M2 Encore adapters are shipped from the factory pre-collimated.
Achieves Cinema-Quality Depth of Field
Shallow depth of field can produce stunning images, allowing techniques such as rack focus and follow focus to enhance your production's look.
Supports Interchangeable Lenses
Get the exact angle of view and focus you want: attach a 20mm wide angle lens for your master shots, switch to a 50mm for your standard scenes, then bump up to an 85mm for that shallow depth-of-field close-up.
Uses a Wide Variety of 35mm Lenses
With mounts available for Canon EOS, Canon FD, Minolta MD, Nikon, Olympus, PL, and Pentax K/S, you can choose the type and brand of lens that works best for you and your budget. Interchangeable mounts let you upgrade your lenses as your project or needs evolve--start with inexpensive Nikon or Canon still lenses, and maybe for the big shoot rent some Cooke or Arri Ultra Primes (just make sure you have the correct mounts).
Works with Today's--and Yesterday's--SD and HD Cameras
The M2 Encore is designed to work with just about every modern SD and HD camera available, from the smallest HV20 to the oldest PD100 to the shiniest EX1R. This bundle is for cameras that do not have built-in flip capability. For cameras with image-flip--such as the JVC HD200 series cameras, Panasonic HMC150, Panasonic HPX170 series, and the JVC GY-700--the basic Indie Bundle is recommended.
microX Encore Flip Accessory
Like all 35mm adapters without a built-in flip module, the M2 Encore displays your video image upside down as it comes through the attached lens. The microX Encore re-orients the image for you, so you don't have to turn your camera or external monitor upside down to properly view. This also simplifies post-production, since shooting with an upside-down monitor still requires digitally flipping the image prior to editing.
microSupport Baseplate
The microSupport baseplate is a professional grade support system that is the backbone of your camera rig. In tandem with the included 18" 15mm steel rods, it provides rock-solid support for not only the M2 Encore lens adapter, but for optional on-camera accessories such as follow focus and matte box. It also includes mounting holes for the microPod and microPowerPod for full support of rear-mounted accessories (such as wireless mic and on-camera monitor).
Shim Kit
The shim kit allows the rods to be adjusted to fit any camera height.
