The new Hoodman 675x CF card actually performs as promised. While I found many of the first generation 300x UDMA cards in actuality barely performed much better in my 1Ds Mark III than older 150x cards, this new card writes almost as fast I can fire a frame (RAW+L JPEG). It's not the cheapest hi-speed UDMA card around, but is definately more affordable than the fastest Sandisk and Lexar cards. As a bonus, for me, it's a available in a "smaller" 4GB range, rather than the increasingly more common 8 and 16. I still like to use my cards as a "roll of film", rather than putting all my eggs in one basket on a 16 or 32GB card.

I bought 4 of these about a year ago. They've been great & they boast how no card has ever failed in the field. WRONG! I had one fail on me about 3 weeks ago. It took/wrote the images to the card fine, saw images on back of camera fine, but when I went to download to computer there were no files & all were corrupt. I had to frantically download Lexar's Image Rescue & pray these images could be recovered...they were of a bridal shoot. All thankfully were recovered with Lexar's software. I contacted Hoodman & I have to mail them the card for them to test to determine if it actually "failed" or not. So we'll see what they come up with. Other than that I've had no issues using these cards. But please do use them knowing that they can & do fail....unlike their claim.

Comments about Hoodman 4GB CompactFlash Memory Card RAW 675x UDMA:
I'm a wedding photographer so I use my cards A LOT. I had encountered some scary problems with other cards (giving me warning messages halfway through a wedding that the card wasn't writing correctly, eeep!) so I was happy to invest in Hoodman cards since they are guaranteed. They have been working great!

Just purchased. My Hasselblad H3D-II 31 would not recognize the card and would not format it. Seems to work ok on a Canon 5D MkII. Is US made, and appears to be sturdy...only time will tell.

This card is more expensive than other 4GB CF cards. But it's super fast. And in the end, I don't mind paying to reliably capture my clients' photos.

Comments about Hoodman 4GB CompactFlash Memory Card RAW 675x UDMA:
I'm a part-time freelance professional photographer who shoots news, portraits, sports,
and weddings. Speed is very important for sports and the RAW 4GB CF card is an exceptional device
for the price. My first experience with the CF card was amazing. Fast writing ability and downing load time. I often work with tight deadlines for newspaper assignments and the RAW 4 GB CF card has proven itself the best even better than SanDisk Extreme CF cards with speed.

Very fast and affordable. Great for those who have a need for speed, but don't necessarily have to have huge capacity. Great card. Would buy again.
