THis camera is just fine. I purchased it to replace a 2 yr old FE this is nearly identical but whose flash stopped working. The older model was better in that there were more control on the camera body as opposed to the FE 47 which is too menu driven. Having a few quick, regularly altered buttons on the body is a pleasure vs alway having to cycle through menus. But this is the tech wave of the future - unfortunately....the engineers do not listen to older users. Quality great...and NON proprietary batteries which is a huge cost savings when batts go dead and need replaced.

I needed a new camera for a trip this summer because the current camera I have is a bit out-dated. This camera is very user-friendly. What I like about it is the close-up photograph with less blurr pictures that it produces and the adjustments to the surrounding lighting when taking pictures. But what I really love about this camera is that it has this option to take a picture of a subject in "drawing or sketch mode" which I think is great being a watercolorist.It is so tiny I feel I might lose it. It is a good camera for that price and worth the cost.
