The Interfit Super Cool Lite 655 2-Light Kit (110VAC) provides an economical way to light portraits and studio products for digital stills or video, using fluorescent bulbs for the equivalent of 1320 watts of daylight-balanced light (4800-5200°K) per head, for a total of 2640W. This kit includes 2-Super Cool Lite 655 light heads, 2-35" (90 cm) Octobox softboxes, 2-10.5' light stands, 2-19" (48 cm) high-contrast reflectors, 12 fluorescent bulbs (55W each) and 2 power leads. We bought this kit for shooting newborn babies, whose parents are sometimes nervous about strobes.
For the price, this is the best kit around. We looked at the Wescott's, which are twice the price, and decided the premium in price wasn't worth it.
Pros:
relatively bright (brighter than the TD5s)
6 levels of brightness
relatively inexpensive
light units themselves are well constructed
a rolling travel case can be purchased to transport the kit
Cons:
the stands are just ok, the included octabox is lower quality than wescott or Paul C. Buff.
Big and somewhat awkward to maneuver on stand, have to remove bulbs every time you want to change something (attachments, etc.)
Overall, we're very pleased with the purchase for our purposes, and would recommend to anyone looking for continuous lighting. It's the best value out there.

When I purchased this product I based my decision on both the rating and other customer reviews. While it was simple to put together and I was attracted to the octagon shape I was supremely disappointed [...] While on the job, two hours into the shoot the only functional light bank experienced a short fuse. This caused the aluminum to melt over the light, which in turn also short fused. The entire experience was a disaster and I'm not quite sure if it is a good product [...]

Comments about Interfit Super Cool Lite 655 2-Light Kit (110VAC):
This kit put out a lot of light, and since I got two lights my video footage looks better than ever. I like how each lamp can be turned on/off by switches. Putting it togther can be tricky because there are no instructions, but a detailed look at a picture of the unit assembled online is all you need. The lamps for this unit are large, about 3 times the size of a tungston house bulb. A few of my lamps were bad when I got it [...]

I bought the product to use for video recording. It fairly easy to set up the stand and the bulbs, and not so easy to set up the shade. The bulbs are very fragile. [...]The product (bulbs in particular) are very tricky to move around on a flight. I had to put all that would 5 (which where all that would fit) into my hand luggage, and try and find new bulbs (with no luck) at my destination.I succeeded in breaking all five when I set up the lights to high, and the set up just fell by itself. Should have aligned the heaviest area to one of the three legs (or just not raised it so high). But I'll replace them and continue to use the product.

great output, nice options, plenty of those options. Not a real durable setup, but if you're careful with it, it's a great value indeed! You will need some sand bags for the stands, the heads get heavy.
Get the bag for the 2 heads, you'll tank me later!

Comments about Interfit Super Cool Lite 655 2-Light Kit (110VAC):
For the price, this kit puts out a lot of light. The stands are sturdy, though I use some hefty sandbags to keep them solidly anchored. The smaller, round head is solid, but you have to remove all the bulbs when you take it off. I also wish there was an easier way to mount the wide octagon diffuser, but it at least feels sturdy. I also like that each bulb has its own switch, so the lights can be dimmed.
Three of the 12 bulbs were shattered when they arrived, but B&H sent replacements right away.

Comments about Interfit Super Cool Lite 655 2-Light Kit (110VAC):
The amount of light coming of these heads is great. If you are looking for easily controlled lights these are for you but if you need something compact and light look else where. I would suggest these to anyone working in a studio.

Comments about Interfit Super Cool Lite 655 2-Light Kit (110VAC):
The lights are really good for the price you pay. They stay cool and give a cool white light for the stage. They use standard 55Watt CFL bulbs in the 5500 spectrum. I like the ON/OFF button for each bulb. That way I can adjust the intensity of light. The stand is pretty sturdy. I used them with the white cloth cover (included) and for video in a church setting. 2 lights were enough for my stage which was about 40'x10'. The bulbs are delicate. [...]

Highly recommended lighting setup for video or photography. Can easily see where the shadows are during setup and best yet, they stay cool. Great value for the price. One bulb wasn't working when I received it [...]

Comments about Interfit Super Cool Lite 655 2-Light Kit (110VAC):
Excellent cool light option for continuous lighting. Though cumbersome, it's ability to be modified and it's great price make this a good option for studio use. It's easiest to have a place to store it assembled to avoid the time of set up and repacking of all its pieces.
Due to the flawed design of the umbrella hole on the Monstar One Light, I'd recommend the 655 over it. Mounting one and placing the other in a large parabolic umbrella puts out a decent amount of light

Comments about Interfit Super Cool Lite 655 2-Light Kit (110VAC):
I'm a fine artist and use these in my studio for painting as well photography. There are several parts to the lights which are made of plastic, which could possibly break with excessive wear and tear, but for my purposes they are fine. They give off a nice color light (not too blue) and are quite bright. You can control the number of lamps which are lit with individual switches, which is nice. I got them because they can be left on for long periods of time. One issue I had, which may not be a problem for photographers, was that when using one of the two reflectors which comes with the lights there was some overheating after about two hrs. The reflector is plastic, so I drilled several holes in it to allow heat to dissipate. This seems to have solved the problem. All in all I find these very useful in my studio.
