'Pro grade' follow focus on an indie budget. Beautifully made, sturdy/weighty, precise FF with no discernable backlash. Very smart design, with it's quick release, and one screw turn slides the unit away from rails to enable lens changes etc. It's important that you line up the FF gears truly perpendicular to the gear box for smooth sailing (see my other reviews of lens gears and micro crank).
I am using this with Canon lenses both old and new.

it's a pretty nice follow focus, gears turn smoothly and the rod attachment is very nice, easy, quick and apparently sturdy. i only had this follow focus out of the box for 10 minutes. i was comparing it to the Genus Bravo which i already had. they are very similar, but the Genus has a movable focus marker and its gear box is just a tiny bit smaller (so it leaves room for a matte box when using with shorter lenses). if redrock's v3 follow focus ever comes out, it may be the one to get though.

Comments about Redrock Micro microFollowFocus v2:
For the cost, it's a really decent FF but it DOES have a 1-2mm slack in it which can sometimes mess up pulling focus on a shot. The Redrock V3 FF is MUCH better with NO SLACK but you'll pay more...

i loved it before the cogwheel developed an awkward little clearance with its axle. Now the main wheel goes for about a mil without moving the lens. Feels totally awkward when I need to make a short pull.

This follow focus helps me to handle perfectly my Canon 5D from my shoulder mount. I bought this follow focus because of his quality and his price. It is one of the most stable in the market, it competes whith the best brands but what makes difference is the price. It is the good issue if you dont want to expend much more...

Nice movement. Only issues...some of the gears click a little and need adjustment. Can't use a china marker, just doesn't come off. I've been using dry marker and it works better, but still hard to clean off. Love how easily it adjust and removes from rig.

I use this on the Handy SLR Rig with the 5d mark ii on a 50mm 1.4 and it works perfect. There is absolutely no wiggle; as soon as you turn the wheel, the focus is moving. You certainly pay for that quality, but I've heard of no other product that compares.
If you are new at this: make sure you have rails and the proper gear (sold separately).

solid build. works well with lens gears. wish it had vertical movement, hard stops and a reduction gear for still lenses that have limited focus rotation. of course, i don't know that anyone else has these features.

May seem a bit pricey, but it's very well made and does the job. Be sure to get a long whip.

Comments about Redrock Micro microFollowFocus v2:
I had a cheap plastic follow focus that I got online, and it was garbage. I had used the redrock and Arri35 systems and couldn't believe I had wasted money on anything else.
The redrock is as smooth as anything out there, it just lacks positive stop features and some other pro features, but is as smooth as anything else.
Closed gearbox, solid metal construction, the wheel erases well... it gets the job done, and I'm happy with it.

This is one item that is a must have if you are serious about getting professional focus pulls. I have used a few different follow focus's which a more expensive than this one, but this one certainly gives the others a run for their money. It it is very smooth and overall a very good product, yet again from Redrock.

quick release is a key. The fact that you can quickly snap in the follow focus was a major * in purchasing this product. Redrock micro really thought about the design.
