Akai SynthStation25 - Piano Keyboard for iPhone and iPod Touch
The SynthStation25 from Akai transforms an iPhone or iPod touch into a portable music production studio for mobile music creation. The MIDI keyboard controller gives your handheld device a two-octave set of piano keys and audio outputs, and it works with the Akai Professional SynthStation Studio app.
The 25-key synthesizer style keyboard features a built-in dock for the iPhone or iPod touch. The keyboard is velocity-sensitive, and includes pitch and modulation wheels, along with octave up and down and sound-bank buttons. The SynthStation25 has a stereo pair of RCA line outputs and a headphone output for connection to recording and sound reinforcement systems.
You can use the keyboard with Akai's SynthStation Studio app as well as virtually any MIDI music software on your computer. Additionally, it can trigger MIDI hardware devices such as sound modules, samplers, and MPCs using its USB/MIDI output. The SynthStation25 is powerful enough for professional musicians, yet virtually anyone can use is to easily create music.

im using this with nanostudio on iphone 4. Works really well, like a beat machine with a touchscreen. Workflow is fun and intuitive, and with this keyboard i finally have some control over note velocity. Super light and compact and portable. Ive made a few beats so far and the batteries are still good. The only thing i dont like is that the keyboard jacks the audio out so u will need a pair of headphones or portable speakers. Ie u cant hear thru the iphone speaker. I guess the iphone speaker isnt all that good anyway..

Wow this is a very convenient device. The app for the phone is the real surpriser but this midi keyboard makes it top notch. It can also be used just like an oxygen midi keyboard and be connected to your computer or laptop so it has more uses then just for iPhone. My only complaint is that the ac adaptor is separate and you need external speakers. Other then that you can't beat the price and portability. They are also offering a $20 rebate even better! On a side note it doesn't say it's compatible with iPhone 4 which is odd since it just came out but don't worry because it actually is. Just make sure you remove your cover or bumper protector. One last note you can transport to Logic GarageBand or an Mpc

Using it with Nanostudio. works well! I am pleased with the feel of the mini keys too. I occasionally get the double-triggered note but not much of a problem. Also works great as a midi controller with my DAW (Logic). I wish it had transport controls and aftertouch but for this price it's an amazing piece of gear!

I bought the Synthstation25 for my seventeen yr old son who is a musician himself and just as I hoped he loves it. He jumped right into it as soon as as he could opened the box and attached his iPod. He also learned the program faster then I thought he would and before I knew it he was telling me he needed more tracks to work with because the Synthstation25 only has 6 tracks. The same day the Synthstation was delivered he was up and creating tight beats. So on that note alone I give the Synthstation25 five stars for a great system with a great price that makes its easy and simple for anyone to make beats. Thanks my son loves it
