The Olympus T-100 Digital Camera is a feature-packed compact (only 3.7 x 2.4 x 0.9") and lightweight (4.3 oz) point & shoot camera that makes your picture taking experience fun and easy. Equipped with a 3x wide-angle optical zoom (equivalent to 36 - 108mm in 35mm format) and 12MP resolution you can get sharp and clear photos with lots of detail for viewing and for beautiful enlargements.
This little camera will also capture VGA video (640 x 480) with sound which can be viewed on its 2.4" LCD display or your computer for sharing with family and friends, and it can be uploaded to YouTube for sharing with a wider audience.
The T-100 has 21 shooting modes built right in, so that you can capture just about any kind of scene you'd like. Plus, with advanced face detection the camera tracks up to 12 faces and automatically focuses and optimizes exposures even in low light situations. These modes, combined with digital image stabilization, give you sharp images that are free of blurring. Powered with a LI-80B Lithium-ion battery (recharged via the included AC adapter) you can enjoy shooting the T-100 for about 190 photos per full battery charge.

I got this camera for my 11 year old kid going to Summer camp, I wanted a basic, inexpensive camera, yet not the cheapo "Disney" or "Barbie" kind. The Olympus T-100 was among the first ones with a rechargeable Lithium battery. The user interface is intuitive, and outside pictures are fine. I set the picture size to 8 MPixel (can go up to 12!). The videos are good too. The flash is limited as can be expected of similar point and shoot cameras.

This camera is light, small, it requires minimal setup out of the box, it takes good pictures, and its controls are easy to use and understand...and it comes in red! Perfect for our 8 year old daughter.
The camera is inexpensive, so I don't worry so much if she accidentally mistreats it. I like that it has a rechargeable battery, rather than AA's.
Downsides? Not many, given the price, remember, you're not spending several hundred dollars for a top of the line P&S, but if you're used to handling high-end cameras, this one is not as solidly built and put together as others, the LCD screen is smaller and less sharp and colors don't appear as good on the screen as the more expensive cameras.
But if your goal is to introduce a young person to the joys of photography, this is a good camera to consider.

I bought this camera as a gift for my younger sister. I must admit its been pretty great so far. She's not into taking professional pics but the take great pics to me. The price was an incentive to purchase but the outcome of the photos is the reason we kept it.

I bought this camera for my 7 year old niece, who had been using my camera to take pictures and make videos. She absolutely loves it, and hasn't put it down since she received it. It's lightweight, easy to use and the red color is great. This camera perfectly targets the tween demographic or a beginner photographer -- the quality of the camera is not solid enough for the next level. A bonus is that the video has sound -- it has a mic, but no speaker, so you'll hear the sound once you upload onto your computer. Great camera to experiment with.

Im a old Olympus camera user, i started with a low budget camera, but even this one is a low budget also, is first time i see a olympus camera that the first impression was very bad.At first sight look cheap. but when you check the camera ,you confirm that, the body is not for a olympus brand.look like a forgery.
I will check the functions and image quality, but either way, look like a fragile camera.

Comments about Olympus T-100 Digital Camera (Red):
I bought this camera for a friends son, its really simple to use, felt very robust and has a whopping 10mp sensor in it. This is very much an entry level camera and priced such that if you were to give it to your kid and it eventually got bounced or deconstructed you wouldn't lose sleep. Its picture quality is really good though the viewing screen on the rear is on a par with the price of the unit. If you are looking for a camera for some serious holiday shooting or to capture the family at christmas then consider spending a little more as the difference in quality versus the actual cost to you is very much disproportionate!

I use this product almost every day. I needed just a simple and inexpensive digital camera, but this camera definitely surprised me. It has a lot more options than would expect and I am quite happy with it. The only thing is that when you zoom in to take a picture the image stabilization is not quite there. Other than that I would definitely recommend this camera.

I got this camera for my 9 year old daughter. It's a good basic entry level camera at the right price. Easy to use, and not alot of confusing features. Perfect for what a pre-teen/teenager would need in a camera. Also had a nice array of colors to choose from. [...]

This is my daughter's back up carry around camera. She has a new baby and a 2 1/2 year old that are so cute and she like the size and flexibility of this little camera. Pictures are great and the camera is easy to use. They have a full size digital SLR but it is too unwieldy for her to use right now and get all those unforgettable shots of the little ones doing first time things that little one do.
