The Sunpak Compact Monopod folds down to a mere 16.5" (42cm) and reaches a maximum height of 60.6" (154cm) for eye-level shooting. It can support equipment weighing up to 3 lb (1.4 kg). The Compact Monopod comes with a removable locking ballhead for fast adjustments and a non-slip rubberized leg tip. It also comes with a neck strap and a convenient belt/waist clip so it can be also used as a chest pod for steady equipment positioning in tight places. It is constructed of 3 metal alloy leg sections with twist locks and a neoprene grip so it can be easily handled in any climate. I bought this monopod for light hiking with my D3100, a very light DLSR. The monopod is very light weight (flimsy) and colapsed on me several times while hiking. Forunately I was going uphill at the time and fell up the trail rather than down the trail. Took it back for a more reliable monopod. Not worth the risk of getting hurt. When they say it supports 3 lbs they mean only 3 lbs. It does not have a place to tighten the clamps so they don't slide so easily.
