I bought this camera because of its great price, and it's turned out to take better photos than I expected. The video is pretty good too.
I use it when kayaking in salt water environments. Unfortunately the screen scratches quite a bit when against the deck of my (plastic) boat. And I've only used it a few times. I might buy a screen protector or something.
Also, the screen is very difficult to see on bright days. At first I didn't even know it was on because I couldn't see the screen at all. I wish they had an eyepiece viewfinder so you could see what you're trying to take a photo of when you're outside (isn't that when this will be used most?).
However the video function works well and the pictures are great, though sometimes water spots get on the lens and ruin parts or all of a photo. The body is heavy and well built. There is also a tripod connector on the bottom, which I might try out with a mini-tripod made to attach to kayaks.
All in all, great purchase and I would recommend it to a friend.

Yes indeed the camera is shock and water proof. Its easy to see all the pros of the camera but the real truth is that the image quality ain't that great, while stile usable. The high ISO also can be a problem but its not the worst. The menu is arranged quite nicely easy to use and understand. All in all you get what you pay for. Actually on my behalf its worth buying.

Using this camera for simple point and shoot. The shock-proof / dust-proof feature is great for sporting around with it in my pocket. The novelty of being waterproof was a HUGE selling point for me, especially for this price.

Bought this camera because I am going snorkeling, haven't used it yet for that, but have used it in the pool a little and takes awesome pics in that setting. The record feature is nice since you can adjust it from 720 down depending if you want HD or not, and unlike many of the other underwater cameras I looked at it does not cut off your video at 30 seconds. The other nice feature I like with this camera is that you have a lot of options to crop and edit your photos on the camera and then upload them to the web if desired. Perfect camera for the price.

We used two of these cameras as backups on our Alaska vacation. They took very good pictures, have some great features, and are rugged. It was nice to be able to carry a pocket camera, not have to worry about putting our SLRs in dangerous environments, and still be able to have decent pictures. We tested the waterproof feature a couple of times and had no problems. I wish the lens could be covered when powered off to protect it from scratches but that is about the only feature I would like added. Did not really do movies and we did not expect that this camera would outperform $2,000 equipment. Like most point and shoot cameras, it does have slight shutter lag so it won't catch action nearly as well as an SLR. Have realistic expectations when you purchase this camera and you will not be disappointed.

I purchased this product so that I could use it on the two vacations I have planned during the month of July. I have just finished the first and am delighted with the performance of this fujifilm finepix camera.
I traveled into the mountains and this camera provided me with a lightweight and durable way to document the trip. When dropped,it was unaffected, and it took much better underwater photos than expected!
Next month I will be traveling to the coast and fully expect to use it underwater, at the beach, and without having to worry about keeping it out of the action. This fujifilm finepix camera is great for snapshots in all weather conditions and is a great companion for anyone who wishes to document things in a simple and reliable way.

This product is used for general pictures. It appears simply to operate with a useful interface. It is small and compact, a feature needed. The user manual is extremely limited with very basic information. It does not fully explain the features of the camera. To date, all pictures taken with this camera are blurry. Some are o.k. but, the majority are blurry. The picture taken through the screen looks good but when downloaded the pictures are blurry. Since this model was to be an improvement of the WP 33 model, this is not the quality expected.

How can you not love a camera which you can hold while doing a flip into a pool. Several friends have commented that they have to get the camera too. Sturdy litttle camera which fits into your pocket. Can take it into the pool to take picture of the kids.
