The Kensington Mini Battery Pack and Charger for iPhone and iPod extends the play time of your docking iPod no matter where you are. Enjoy up to 15 extra hours of music, 4 extra hours of video, and up to 3 extra hours of talk. Simply connect the battery pack/charger to your compatible iPod or iPhone's dock and let the lithium-ion polymer battery do its thing. An LED battery meter indicates remaining power level, and the cap can be used a kickstand to keep your iPhone or iPod standing up in portrait or landscape orientation. When it's time to recharge, connect the battery pack to the included retracting USB charging cable, and insert the USB into your computer.

I fly to Shanghai from New York many times a year. These things work great and they are very compact. Plus the 3 level blue lights show the recent capacity of available power.

So far, it is fine, not great. It holds power for a limited time, wish it was a bit longer. I think it will work for what I need, but would not trust it completely.
