The files are BWF compliant for professional use. Your recordings are stored on widely-available microSD or microSDHC flash memory cards for terrific stability and ease of sharing. The SOS can record up to 26.6 hours on a 16GB card, letting you capture anything you like. With up to 6 hours of continuous recording, up to 200 songs, and an unlimited amount of undo and redo functions, the sky is truly the limit.
The recorder has an integrated stereo microphone, so you can record right out of the box without having to add additional equipment. Standard 3.5mm mic and line inputs are provided, as well as a 1/4" guitar input, letting you connect your favorite microphones, instruments, or even a CD player or MP3 player. A built-in speaker lets you play back your recordings instantly, and the standard 3.5mm headphone jack lets you listen privately. The backlit touchscreen LCD screen displays vital info and provides an intuitive interface for easy operation.
An ideal companion for aspiring and professional musicians, the SOS features guitar, bass, and chromatic tuners, as well as loop recording and Sound Stretch, letting you adjust playback speed without affecting pitch. There are 100 built-in effects and 50 preset rhythms, letting you choose your backup band and change your sound right in the recorder itself. The wedge-shaped design fits perfectly in the hand or on a desktop for ultimate versatility. The SOS can run for up to 10 hours on a pair of AA batteries, and for longer periods by using the optional AC adapter. Free downloadable Korg Audio Utility software lets you edit recordings, perform file conversions, and create CDs on your computer.

Comments about Korg SOUND on SOUND Unlimited Track Audio Recorder:
I am an amateur musician. I purchased this for two uses. First to record my practice sessions in order to listen and critique my own playing. Second to record multi-track sessions, playing all parts of a multi-part piece (trios, duets, etc).
I tried this out and thanks to B&H's return policy was able to return it for a full refund. In it's place I purchased the Zoom H4n with which I am absolutely delighted (same price by the way).
The internal microphone is good, but required boosting the input level so high that background hiss is very noticeable. Similarly when I used an external mike (Sony ECM-MS907) I had to again either set the gain to HIGH or raise the input level with the same result. (By the way this same mike works perfectly in the Zoom H4n).
Menu functions are not intuitive and require an excessive amount of clicking to perform simple functions -- such as deleting a file just recorded, etc. And the LCD panel is extremely lo res. You have to look really carefully at the screen sometimes to decipher the letters and numbers.
Lastly, the multi-track recording feature does not allow you to delete any track you want. You can only delete tracks sequentially, in reverse order from which they were recorded. E.g., if you want to delete the first track laid down, you must delete all successive tracks recorded.
My advice: stay away from this product.
