The unit has over 200 pro-level sounds, including synths, drums, and effects, as well as acoustic instruments. An enhanced PCM sound generator offers realistic drum sounds.
The KAOSSILATOR PRO features a mic input jack and 15 different vocoder programs, making it easy to create unique vocal effects. Assignable program memory buttons let you access up to 8 of your favorite sounds instantly. Loop recording allows layering of internal program sounds and external overdubs. The are 4 loop record banks, each of which allows up to 4 measures of loop recording with easy muting for expressive realtime layering and re-mixing. A gate arpeggiator will repeatedly trigger sounds in sync with the tempo. Convenient slider controls let you adjust the gate time and speed.
You can also choose a key and select one of 32 musical scales to create musical phrases. The X-Y pad can be given a limited note range for even more control. Your loop data, user settings, and program memories can be stored on a SD flash memory card for convenient saving. Comments about Korg KAOSSILATOR PRO Dynamic Phrase Synthesizer/Loop Recorder:
Great for developing beats and loops! You could practically do a whole show with just the Kaossilator pro. Great addition to any studio and works well with keyboard controllers, synthesizers, and other instruments. Very easy to use and is hours of fun by itself or added to the rest of your gear. You can also save your loops with a simple sd memory card or with the included software. Also looks great and flashy. A real eye catching piece.

Comments about Korg KAOSSILATOR PRO Dynamic Phrase Synthesizer/Loop Recorder:
The Kaoss pad is great fun and i havent stopped playing on it since it arrived! But at the same time im kind of disappointed as i expected more from it. I use my Kaoss pad for vocoder effects which include: delay, beatgrid and actual vocoders. If you are like me and usually compose on an instrument then do not expect every single note you play to harmonise and sound great, because most of the time they dont. It was mainly made for experimental electronic musicians. You can add the arpegiattor to the drums which can make interesting drum lines and it has a few other things like arcade sounds. The BPM work excellent and i can play well in time with the music from my dj set. If you are after buying a synth BUY A SYNTH! This isnt some magical new invention that'll make awesum music in a few clicks! If you're a producer you'd probably be better off buying a heap of VST's instead. The Kaoss pad has no faults in it and is a great product, and i have seen youtubes videos of people using it to its true potential but in the end it all depends on how you're going to use it, but for me it is a little to pricey for fun!

its very easy to use, very user friendly.
only thing is as a stand alone its a toy,
if you use it with more synths or effects then all its features comes very much in use,
and that is becouse there is no way to process the sounds.the toch pad is the thing that makes it
great and easy to make phrases and to play solos or pads in live or recorded music.i do recommend it as i find it very much in use.

I use this for live performances. It's a great drum machine, an excellent noise box, and a brilliant vocoder. You can do half of the things needed for a great set with this tiny device. KORG makes great products. I use this alongside a microKORG, and it brings the house down. This item is a MUST-HAVE for anyone making beats. Hip-Hop to Deep House, this machine does it all!

Comments about Korg KAOSSILATOR PRO Dynamic Phrase Synthesizer/Loop Recorder:
I picked this up after a night of playing with its little brother (the Kaossilator) with out doing much research. I was very disappointed. I was unimpressed with the sounds also. It seems they used the same unit as their effects processor so some features like the arp switch were located in the back, which seemed odd for something you might want to change often. If you check the Korg forum you will see all the feature requests that are being asked for. With future firmware upgrades this could be a great unit but untill I hear these features added I chose to return the unit.

Comments about Korg KAOSSILATOR PRO Dynamic Phrase Synthesizer/Loop Recorder:
I got this KoPro after feeling I had maxed out my creativity on the original Kaossilator. I've been using it every day for the last 3 weeks. I love it. I didn't like how the x/y pad felt at first but quickly got used to it. It has a slightly different feel than the O.K. (original Kaossilator). I have my debut gig at a music festival the first of June and the KoPro is going to be the foundation of sound I create. I am starting to feel really confident in it. Several things I wish were better. If I'm only allowed 200 synth settings, you would think Korg would have the ability to put banks of sound as a testable and downloadable feature on their website to let me choose what sounds I have on my KoPro. I would think most people would have several favorite synth settings, then some that are functional, and then some they will never use. Give me a list of 2,000 sounds to choose from and let me load the 200 settings. I would also like to be able to save and load my saved songs faster. Doesn't seem that the memory is very fast. As a midi-controller, I was disappointed to figure out that controlling the sound module I wanted to control from the xy pad was too cumbersome to make it worth while. I'm sure it may work for some sound modules you are interested in controlling but if you think you're gonna plug it into a drum machine and Gate/Arp the drum sounds... you got another thing coming.
Overall, I still love it. I can not imagine life without the KoPro now that it's mine. I saved up and could not wait to get it and now that it's here I can't stop playing with it. Although there is some functionality I'd love to see added, I am very happy with the functionality already there. If you focus on that, the music you make is not restrained by genre. My imagination is really being tapped for the first time musically.

When Korg came out with the first kaossilator I was blown away. But now they took all the feedback we gave them and created ultimate kaoss! Even if your not a musician or producer you will love this piece of hardware!
