I really like this product. I think it's very well designed and has plenty of features. It's virtually silent, and has cool looks. It's extremely easy to setup. All you have to do is to just plug the unit in and install the software, and that's basically it. Installation is very straightforward too. The unit has very user-friendly interface. It's immediately recognized on the network, and has fast transfer rates. It's exactly what I was looking for in a network drive. 5 stars without hesitation.

I would imagine this Network Drive is the right drive for some people, it was not for me. I could not get the USBShare feature to work, and could not copy a separate desktop hard drive to this new one, the only interface that worked was the browser oriented one, and for me, that was not going to work. I returned the drive, and will just buy a bigger basic LaCie Desktop drive.

Setting up regular backups with Apple's Time Machine was easy under Mac OS X 10.6.7. Runs quietly enough to sit in a corner of the bedroom. Blue indicator light was too bright but easy to switch off using the configuration web interface.

The setup was very easy, no problems at all. Once I did that it was a breeze to start moving my files to LaCie Network Space 2. The drive became the central server for our photo library. Very happy with my purchase.

I've been using LaCie Network Space 2 for several months now and so far I have been pretty impressed. The install was easy. The administrator interface is easy to understand and can be customized. We have a xbox 360 and two other devices that stream media files. The nice thing about Network Space 2 is that it is instantly seen on the network by those devices. Setup was quick and easy on XP SP3, no issues at all.

This drive has worked very well out of the box, exactly as advertised - installation was a breeze, I connected it to the network, it showed up immediately on my PC, I uploaded files to it, that's it. The remote features work just fine. The unit can do a lot of cool stuff. I love it!

I use this drive as a base station for the entire house for music and backup of documents and it's worked perfectly for me. The interface for PC is very simple, but it's easier to drag and drop via the Computer - Drives folder because that's unlimited. Through the browser, it's 16 files at a time.
I also use it on a Mac and that's even simpler, but that's to be expected.

I have purchased several NAS systems for my home over the past 7 years. I would have to say this unit has the best price to performance and feature ratio of any of the others (Seagate, Buffalo and WD) Its small, quiet, VERY easy to set up and if you require more space and/or redundancy, it has the option of adding another HD to it via usb, not fast, but it works for the application. I run a mixed environment of Windows 7 and Mac OSX and everyone has a public and private folder to use as they wish. I would highly recommend this unit.
