Just looking at JVC's XS-SR3J Personal Surround Speaker you can tell it's a different kind of iPod dock. The XS-SR3J docks your iPod vertically or horizontally in the middle of a wrap-around speaker that directs the audio toward you, or wherever you decide to aim the system. The XS-SR3J speaker features Dolby Virtual Surround and 5W of total output power for your listening pleasure. In addition to holding your iPod upright or in landscape view for watching widescreen videos, the speaker also comes with four clips for holding the various iPod models snugly in place (not including shuffle). Other portable audio devices like gaming systems can be connected to the Personal Surround Speaker using the line input. Basic control of the dock or your iPod can be performed from a distance using the included remote control.
