The Samsung SL605 Digital Point and Shoot Camera (Silver) is a rugged, durable 12.2 MP camera that doesn't need kid gloves--with an anti-scratch mask to prevent everyday scratches, and rubberized construction on the bottom, and around the buttons and LCD display, you can take it anywhere, anytime and get the shots you want without worry.
Under its rough-and-tumble exterior, though, the SL605 has the soul of an artist. The 27-135mm equivalent wide angle zoom lens is perfect for almost any kind of shot you want, from landscapes to portraits to sports. Image stabilization and a Smart Night Mode mean you can keep shooting when the light gets low, and still get great photos.
Smile Shot and Blink Detection combined with Face Detection take the guesswork out of taking pictures of your friends and family--this camera waits for the smile, avoids the blink, and maximizes exposure and focus for the faces of the people you love.
And after you've got your shot, you can apply a wide range of color styles to your pictures (including styles you create yourself) and make prints directly from the camera (without a computer) with any PictBridge-enabled printer (available separately).

i bought it based on reviews because i was confused by all the options. in this price range im satisfied with my purchase. im still learning the camera. wish it would include a case and memory, but i used the sd card from a phone, same format, which is better than nothing. it fits nicely in my small purse.

This is my first digital camera and I love it. Compact size makes it easy to carry everywhere. The zoom lens makes it easy for far away shots. Video is high quality. Overall an excellent camera.
