The budget-friendly DXG DXG-5B1V Sportster High Definition Camcorder captures video and still images on land or under the sea. With its 5MP CMOS sensor, SD/SDHC flash memory, and waterproof rating of down to 10' (3m), the 5B1V delivers 1920 x 1080 HD footage via a simplified, easy-to-use system. The 5B1V sports a traditional form-factor, but provides a slightly bigger-than-normal 3" LCD display. Additional helpful features include 4x digital zoom, an LED video light, and HDMI output to HDTV.

Simply put, I'm happy with the camera. I bought it for three specific purposes. 1. As an underwater cam to film bass for a tv show 2. As a fixed mounted camera at events and 3. As a dashcam for my car. It has several limitations for most users but at [$], you can't complain. This would be the perfect gift for a young kid interested in video.

I use this camera to make time lapse video, and for other short outdoor shots. The camera only has a fixed lens, but the video is decent considering it is the cheapest 1080p camera on the market. The camera only has digital zoom in the less than 1080p resolutions. The menus are not in any language so sometimes it is confusing what it means when it says *** and * which is the better quality since one star is big and the other three are small. I think that the *** is the better quality, but it is sort of confusing at times although it should be simpler. This camera is tough, and water resistant. If you want to take HD video of your rafting trip this would probably be a good place to start. The batter charger is external and I think a good design for a cheep battery charger. Overall it is a cool camera, but no mic input, no zoom and limited control over aperture and shutter speed. There is good control over exposure, it is one of the most intuitive exposure compensation buttons on a video camera that I have seen. I would recommend this to a friend, but only for specific uses and knowing that it is a cheep camera and that it is limited in its use.

Small and powerful for a great price. Small and handy camcorder recording in 720 and 1080 HD. Unfortunately when you recording in 1080HD you won't be able to use the zoom. The best feature is the camera is waterproof. You won't be able to find waterproof camcorder for the price.

This is a very basic camera that is waterproof. It shoots a great picture all the way up to 1080p which is fantastic for the price. The zoom is only 4x and it is very shaky as you go from Wide angle to Zoom. I also noticed that if there was alot of background noise, my voice was choppy even at close range. I will be using this as a stationary camera on a tripod for wide angle shots while we're hunting. Bottom line: a great camera for the price!

It is basically a good camera, but won't work on a Mac or be seen in Quicktime. Windows is OK so far, But Mac NO. Called Tech Support and they sent me to the internet to look for Codex's

Awesome HD video quality both in and out of the water. I bought this camera for my son who loves to snorkel. It is easy to use even for a 13 year old. I would definetly recommend this to anybody !

Very good quality, love that it has a built in light and one touch underwater button.
Very simple menu options.
Lightweight so when it does go in the water it kinda moves around when not holding it.

I havent used the camera in the field yet, i needed a cheap camera with an ac plug in it for showing small cooking on a big tv, but cant use this cam because there is no ac plug in it, but there small and cheap, so im giving them as Christmas presents.
