The Panasonic DMW-MCTZ10 Marine Case Underwater Housing for the Panasonic DMC-ZS5 & DMC-ZS7 (DMC-TZ10) digital camera. You can use your digital camera to take underwater photos at depths of up to 130' (40m). It is also ideal for taking worry-free pictures in the rain, at the beach, or on the ski slopes.
A diffuser for the camera's flash is included. This helps when using the camera's internal flash. For better results underwater, use the internal flash to trigger a slaved external strobe like those made by Fantasea, Sea & Sea, Ikelite, or Sealife. The camera has an underwater mode setting for available light photography.

Have to remember to be fairly close for the flash to work to light the subject properly.

This case is very well protect and worked great under water, no complains! But, when using it to take photos on the water, for example, of surfers or kayaking it doesn´t work. The camera sometimes focus on the drops that sticks on the case and ruine the picture. Other times, this drops just keep in the way of the camera and the subject. It´s frustating...This case can be a litle have for some, but for diving it´s not a problem. So, if you going to use just for diving or snorkeling this is a good option, otherwise, I sugest to you to buy a waterproof camera for an extra 50 dolars.[...]

Comments about Panasonic DMW-MCTZ10 Marine Case Underwater Housing:
Camera fits like a glove in the case. All the buttone work properly and my Ikalite flash fires remotely from my camera without any problems. I fail to see why people are complaining about this product. I haven't had a chance to go deep but did check for leaks and usability and I could not ask for anything better.

Comments about Panasonic DMW-MCTZ10 Marine Case Underwater Housing:
I liked that you could adjust the boyancy and that getting the case on and off was easy. I also liked that you can lock the power switch and playback switch to prevent accidental contact. The only thing I have to complain about is the labels in the buttons are very hard to read underwater, so you have to memorize the control locataions.

Comments about Panasonic DMW-MCTZ10 Marine Case Underwater Housing:
I received this case in preparation for an upcoming trip that will involve snorkling. In the past I had purchased a so called "waterproof" "Olympus Tough" point and shoot camera which worked fine for a while, but then died suddenly. After researching all current "water proof" point and shoots, it seemed that my experience is common place. I decided on this case for my Panasonic DMC-ZS7. I have not tried it in water yet, but in dry land it works well - all the buttons and knobs are funcional, and the pictures through the plastic window came out great. I will have to update this review after in water use.

Used the underwater housing on my Panasonic Lumix TZ7 for a whale watching trip. Worked great to protect camera from salt spray while still taking great pictures. Haven't used diving or snorkeling yet, however, I'm sure the housing will function perfectly when I do. All the functions of the camera are available with this housing.
B&H processed the order and delivered the housing in record time. I highly recommend both the housing and B&H.

Used it this week on a cruise to Belize and Roatan. Excellent video of spinner dolphins ! Full access to all controls, even in manual mode. Flash diffuser not bad for what it is, but still will not replace external flash.

I have only taken the case to about 40 feet so far, but it worked great. All buttons and features of the camera are usable with the camera in the housing.

Comments about Panasonic DMW-MCTZ10 Marine Case Underwater Housing:
A super case except: the shinney chrome buttons attract barracuda which is a little scary, had to put nail polish on the buttons.. Very difficult to take pictures at certain times of the day because I cannot see what I am trying to take a picture. Had to tape a laser lite to the top of the case to see where I am taking a picture of.

Comments about Panasonic DMW-MCTZ10 Marine Case Underwater Housing:
Well-built case with easily accessible buttons for complete control of the camera.
The challenge was to attach an external strobe trigger (made by Sealife). The flash defuser covers some strange features that do not leave any flat surface to attach the trigger cable.
I can recommend this case if you do not plan any upgrades.

Comments about Panasonic DMW-MCTZ10 Marine Case Underwater Housing:
i bought this housing since it was made by panasonic, i figured all the functions would be guaranteed to work. and that proved true, all the buttons are easy to use and the housing fits the camera like a glove. everything about the housing for the lumix camera is great. however if you plan on adding a strobe kit... think again... i bought the fantasea nano double ray and the housing mounts well but the problem is that the fiber optic cable doesn't have a flat surface to mount to. the fiber optic cable is supposed to be mounted directly over the camera's internal flash, well problem is when you remove the difuser there is some sort of bracket that impedes the ability to attach the "velcro" adhesive strip that connects the fiber optic sync cable. now its obviously got to serve some purpose otherwise panasonic wouldn't have put it there, then again, i'm left with a headache wondering why i cannot find ANY information or adapters from fantasea, panasonic or B&H. so am i supposed to file down this rediculous peice of pointless plastic that voids a flat mating surface [...]

This case worked very well for me, down to a depth of 100'. I could easily change all the settings (which is great because I kept forgeting to switch back to "underwater" mode before going under). The case is solidily constructed but compact enough to hold close to my BC when rolling off the boat in rough seas. I would recommend it.

Comments about Panasonic DMW-MCTZ10 Marine Case Underwater Housing:
I bought this about a week before heading to Turks & Caicos. I read all the instructions and I was a bit worried, with all the care and "clean room" type steps that it seemed to take to prevent leaking. It was way easier than I thought it would be. Keep the O-ring clean...that's pretty much it. I had it on a boat, in the pool, in and out of the case, on the beach and never had an issue. I had it to about 20 feet deep, it took great pictures. The top dial was easy to read so I was switching from underwater pictures (My Scene), to video within 2 seconds all while swimming. I took a picture of a sea turtle and as it took off decided to get video.
My only advice is to make sure the switches are where they should be BEFORE putting the camera in the case. Example, the "switch/lever" for Play/take pictures should match the switch. If you have the camera on play, but the switch on take pictures...there is no way to get it back without removing the camera...luckily I noticed the kids had put it on play BEFORE I got in the water.
I'm not an expert, but this made for a much better vacation album. When half the time was spent in and under the water...the pictures should reflect that.
