The Nikon CoolPix S3000 offers a 4x, 27-108mm equivalent zoom range coupled with 12.0 megapixels of resolving power, and a bright 2.7" LCD.
To ensure sharp, usable pictures under any and all lighting conditions, the CoolPix S3000 features a 4-way VR optical image stabilization system, the ability to boost ISO ratings up to 3200, and Nikon's Best Shot Selector (BSS) that quickly captures 10 exposures and automatically edits and saves the sharpest of the batch.

Good for family snapshots, or as a small traveling camera. Definitely a step up from our previous point and shoot (Nikon Coolpix L20). The smile finder feature works well, and the flash is good at not washing out everything.

Following the recommendation of a fellow photographer, we bought this camera for our marketing department staff to use at various events to record display set ups and take other misc. photos. We have a professional series Nikon camera also, but we needed something that was small, easy to transport and fast to pull out when needed. The camera takes great pictures, has a great ergonomic design to fit in your hand to snap fast photos, and works great. It's also easy to use. It was an added bonus that there were so many color options. By choosing the green option, everyone in our organization knows the camera belongs to the marketing office, as it's very distinct looking and works with our corporate logo colors. After using the camera for business needs, I would consider purchasing it for personal use, as it's a great little camera, especially for the price. It's also great that it comes with a rechargable battery!

I needed a compact and cheap camera to keep in my bag at all times for fun shots with friends and family. This is a nice thin camera with a pretty good zoom that takes decent pictures. It is light, but not super durable. It is a great camera for what I'm using it for; however, I would not want it as my primary camera.
It is a good practical camera for the price if you want something to play around with.

It's a good simple camera. Takes a few seconds for the image to pop up on the LCD screen, to allow you to take another shot.
I am using a basic SD card. Perhaps it would be better with a faster SD card.
