The Nikon CoolPix S6000 offers a wide (7x) 28-196mm equivalent zoom range coupled with 14.2 megapixels of resolving power, and a bright 2.7" LCD.
To ensure sharp, usable pictures under any and all lighting conditions, the CoolPix S6000 features a 4-way VR optical image stabilization system, the ability to boost ISO ratings up to 3200, and Nikon's Best Shot Selector (BSS) that quickly captures 10 exposures and automatically edits and saves the sharpest of the batch.
For capturing the fastest of activities the CoolPix S6000 can also capture up to 3 fps for up to 45 exposures (at 3MP).
Other image-enhancing features found the Nikon CoolPix S6000 include an EXPEED Image Processor, macro shooting down to 1.2" from the front lens element, Face Priority AF for up to 12 faces, Skin Softening for more flattering portraits, Advanced Flash controls, and a Creative Slider that enables you to easily adjust the brightness, saturation, and color hue levels of your pictures in-camera.

Used for a week or so. Mostly without flash inside. But also night shots outside on the streets, on the night setting. Good colours and hardly any delay compared to other older digital cameras I've used. Macro seems good. Wide angle is nice.

I use this camera mostly for pics of family & friends and also some sightseeing & vacation pics.
This is my 3rd Coolpix camera and it is the easiest yet to understand and take great pics with.
Only negatives are the placement of the zoom control and the battery/SD card slot door doesn't close very securely. I can't understand why Nikon cheapened this important component of the camera.
Once again it was a pleasure doing business with B & H Photo.
