Here's a simple test to see if the Boston Acoustics TVee Model 20 Stereo Soundbar w/ Wireless Subwoofer is for you. Visit our store or a videophile friend's house where you can look at the back panel of a high-end audio/video receiver.
If you find the sight of all of those input and output jacks, switches and color-coded sections interesting and exciting, the Model 20 is probably not for you—at least not for your main system (although you might find it ideal for a den, bedroom or family room).
But if all those strange electronic doodads look overly complicated and utterly boring, then have we got a great system for you! The Model 20 proves you can have outstanding television audio in a sleek, elegant, simple design you can set up in minutes, even if complex electronics give you the hives.
Here's the gist of if: With the Model 20 you get a soundbar containing two stereo speakers. Place it in front of your TV or above or below it on a stand. If you have the ambition and the right wall hooks (sold separately), you can even hang it on the wall. The soundbar has built-in mounting holes. Now take the included audio cable and plug one end of it into your TV and one end into the soundbar. Then plug the soundbar's power cord into a wall socket. You're more than halfway there.
Now take the wireless subwoofer and plug it in to any wall socket in the room. That's the whole setup in a nutshell. There are a few other things you might want to do.
You can "teach" the system so you can control its volume from your TV (or other) remote control. It takes a few minutes but makes enjoying your Model 20 even easier and more convenient. If you're getting interference from a nearby source you can change wireless channels with a little four-position slide switch on both units.
If you want great TV sound at a great price without a great deal of complexity the TVee Model 20 is, to put it simply, a great deal.
