The Bower SFD14S Sony Ringlight Flash for Sony Alpha DSLR cameras is a circular light source which delivers, evenly balanced, shadowless lighting ideal for macro, portraits without red eye, products, medical or technical applications. It has a Guide Number of 46' (14 m)at ISO 100 and features full automatic TTL flash exposure control. When shooting at extremely short distances, relatively minor movement of lighting and subject results in relatively large changes of exposure. TTL metering eliminates the need for lengthy calculations of exposure, because the inherent loss of light at macro distances can automatically be calculated. The ringlight attaches to directly to a lens with a 52mm filter size and by using the included adapter rings (55mm, 58mm, 62mm, & 67mm) it can fit a wide variety of other lenses.

Comments about Bower SFD14S Sony Ringlight Flash:
i use with my sony a55 dslr.
I'm disappointed. The ringflash is working with all sony and minolta lens. Nice shoots.
But with my tamron 60mm macro lens, is not working. The flash fire but it's fire too early relative to a55 shutter : my photo is black, flash is not sync.

Comments about Bower SFD14S Sony Ringlight Flash:
I use the product for crime scene as well as some recreational photography. On a budget, so price was a consideration. Nikon's offering was too rich for me right now. This light works fine for the close up work I need to do.

Comments about Bower SFD14S Sony Ringlight Flash:
Was so excited to see there was a relatively inexpensive ring light for my Sony Alpha. Turns out it was another one of those "too good to be true" products.
Unfortunately it will not fit either Sony Alpha we happen to have in the family. My Alpha100 or my son's Alpha900.
I also happily ordered the recommended rechargeable batteries-and they were too large for the product.
Color me sad. :-(

Comments about Bower SFD14S Sony Ringlight Flash:
works fairly well. unfortunately, the max sync speed is 1/160 and HSS is not there. in fact, there are no adjustments at all. for the cost, it does OK and I'll continue to use it. There are more features out there if you are willing to pay for them.

Comments about Bower SFD14S Sony Ringlight Flash:
The flash does a good job when it is working. I discovered that there is a little play between the camera mount and the flash. This will cause the flash to become intermittent in operation. It was easily corrected with a touch of invisible tape on the hot shoe to help tighten up the fit. Once this was done the flash fired flawlessly. Considering it was 1/3 the cost of the Sony flash I can deal with the tiny piece of invisible tape on the hotshoe.
